A wonderful slice of ancient Rayleigh history in a wild walk. Many signs dotted about describe the 1,000 year history of the site that are worth reading. The site is uneven and can get very muddy, with steps that can be a challenge for some. Well worth a look around for the wildlife alone. Windmill at the bottom but only open saturdays. There is Museum that is a must visit too and only 5 mins away next to Pizza express on the high street.
