I absolutely love these woods. They are just magical. There are trees that you can climb, even a grove where all the trees are easily climbable. There are tall and wide trees that are perfect for playing hide and seek with. There is a rope swing that must have been out up by a local. Something I am immensely grateful for as my children (1 and 3) absolutely love it.

Someone has built a house out of cut tree branches and the children love playing in that too.

There are ample benches, little woodland paths and wide open spaces. We have taken picnic blankets and sat and chilled in the open spaces.

There's a little area where there are fallen trees covered in dirt. They have created little dirt mounds and ramps that my children love running up and down.

There's also a small pond where ducks can be found, though it appears to have dried up at the moment in the sun.

The children's park is attached to the woods and that is actually a huge park with a climbing rock, a huge climbing frame, a smaller one for younger children, 3 different slides, a net swing and an adventure trail. It's a wonderful park. It also has picnic benches in it and is perfect for the summer.

There are a couple of different car parks you can park in when...

One of Farnborough's few green wooded spaces. It's great for dog walkers, children (the playground is small but nicely done), and for commuters to walk to Farnborough North station as a change from main roads. Many of the trees are mature specimens, over 100 years old with lots of character.

Some reviewers have commented how the pond looks a bit tatty. It's supposed to be like that - it's a wet and dry pond, and has far more wildlife in and around it than a concrete box would have !

Make the most of this park while you can, Esso are planning to put an oil pipeline through it. They will be cutting down significant numbers of trees, banning replanting of anything bigger than a shrub, and harming the local ecosystems...

Got attacked by a dog unprovoked. I wasn’t even near where the owner and the dogs were. The dog had to run up from behind that’s how far I was. It pushed me forwards scaring me half to death. I turned around to find a barking dog in my face. Owner did nothing as I was screaming. Only till the last scream she got up. I shouted at her to get her dog away from me. She was in no rush and I had no sorry or anything. Be careful if you have small children. Dogs should be on leashes if that’s what they are...

Lovely little park. The entrance is very grand so we drove there especially, but it's not worth driving out of your way for as its not big. The age range on the park is great though as its good for older children....so often older kids are a bit lost in a play park

A hidden gem in Farnborough. Good playground for kids, parking is free, and not too crowded. There are some great nature trails to walk through and some really nice scenic areas. Lots of squirrels too!
