We visited Studio10 for the Comic Relief. Our visit was extremely stressful and ifnwe ever manage to get tickets for anything again I'll definitely be more prepared Next time!. We were told we had to get our tickets validated at 4pm. So we checked into our hotel and headed to the studio. I'd phoned earlier in the day to check if we could validate our tickets, then leave to get ready and come back, or should we come ready for the show. A gentleman on the phone told me could get the tickets validated, leave, have some food, do whatever then come back. As we neared the front of the queue it became apparent that that wouldn't be the case. We weren't dressed for the occasion at all, and when we got to the front we were told we didn't have time to go get changed. In the grand scheme of things it's not a big deal, but I had brought a nice outfit to wear an was looking forward to getting dressed up. We were then left waiting for over 2 hours before we were taken in the the studio, so there would have been more than enough time for us to leave and come back!
I get that live TV and studios have to run to a tight schedule, but this all seemed like an utter shambles and pretty badly organised. You're then in there for 3 hours, (we were stood up for the entire 3 hours) and you can't leave for a drink or the toilet, if you do you might not get back in. All this info needed to be made available beforehand, not right before you're going in.
We had a good night but I'm not sure it was...
Read moreMedia city is a great place to be. There's lots going on and is quite picturesque. However i took my children to the ' I'm a celebrity jungle challenge' which is based here. I am disabled but i decided not to use my mobility scooter on this occasion because there is a tram stop right there. What a mistake that was! There were no signs directing to the place so i was forced to go around trying to find it on foot, something i haven't done for the past 20 months due to ill health. There was no one on the customer service desk to ask and nobody i asked had a clue either which building it was in. Finally we got there 30 minutes late for our slot and having arrived on the tram 15 minutes early. I was incredibly tired at this point as well as being in pain and all i wanted to do was sit inside and have a coffee. There was no seating suitable for people with disabilities. There were only tree logs and hammocks which both were very low. There were not backs to any of the seats or arm rests. I was in a foul mood by now and in pain. The kids, 13, 12 and 10 were not impressed either. They all really wanted to go on the zip wires but the queue was always to long so they just kept complaining to me, as children do. I paid £80 to get in, you pay £10 just to watch your kids. I took them to a later session because the daytime price is £27.50 each! A ridiculous amount of money for what is an average adventure playground. Not worth the money or the pain! Won't...
Read moreI love this place. Media City Salford is an ideal walking destination. The area is flat and wheelchair friendly. There are plenty of bars and restaurants. The BBC and ITV are here too as well as the Coronation Street studios so you may see the odd celebrity knocking about the place. There is a theatre, Outlet Shopping mall with street food restaurants in Kargo Market. The Blue Peter Garden is here too which is Beautiful. In the summer there is usually some event or other on in the small park which has deck chairs for convenience and pop up beer tents. In Winter the area is beautifully decorated with Xmas decorations. There are occasionally people riding bikes fast through the pedestrian areas but that seems to be the norm everywhere now unfortunately. Other than that I would say this is a very pretty and accessible place to visit. There are also two paid car parks, two hotels and bus & tram...
