Nun, dieses Denkmal teilt das Schicksal mit vielen anderen Kunstwerken im öffentlichen Raum: Ohne den Begleittext auf der zu Füßen der Figuren angebrachten Schrifttafel ist der Zweck des Denkmals, der Sinn der Erinnerungskultur nicht zu erahnen. Ohne den Hintergrund zu kennen, habe ich das Denkmal zuerst als Erinnerung an schottische Auswanderer aufgefasst. Das ginge sicher besser. Immerhin ist die handwerkliche Ausführung...
