This park has been suffering from a serious lack of investment for a long time now. People drop a lot of litter, broken glass bottles but the worst thing is the horrible clouds of diesel fumes that float into the park from the surrounding busy roads. Young kids are breathing that thick diesel pollution in, it's so bad I've had to run to another area on many occasions to get fresher air to breath. The sign that says there is a wildlife haven on the barren grassy area and which is totally devoid of any wildlife whatsoever even in high summer is frankly just an embarrassment. The 30ft rocky islands in the fossil grove are climbed by kids daily and one will fall off at some point and be hospitalised or worse, There is no safety measures in place for those children or adults that climb them and it's just a matter of time before someone falls and is seriously hurt or dies. The bowling greens have been abandoned and left to decay and the scrub land area is just a complete waste of good public space. Shame, this park could be so much nicer with the right investment and it should be getting that investment considering the amount of people that use it but then this neglect is what you expect with a Tory Government and Glasgow...

This is a great park for family, runners, bikers, dog walkers, Pretty much anyone. The pond itself is a decent enough size but can become quite grubby looking around the bottom due to debris thats fallen in & swan/duck muck. Has lots of different wildlife that use it! from Swans to the local Seagulls, which can be annoying when your kids have just fed the ducks. The Swans can poo outside on the path so need to watch your step at times, as can become dirty. The park has beautiful flower gardens & stunning big weeping willows hanging over the smaller pond areas, these really are stunning trees & complement the park, especially when in full leaf. There is an ancient fossilized tree area up at the back end of the park ( Fossil Grove) interesting but not a great deal to look at other than a few stone tree stumps! Smaller Kids will get bored quite quickly as theres nothing else inside except these. Theres a great swing park, tennis area & loads of ground for kids to have fun in general throughout the spring/summer months. Overall a decent park with a few bits & pieces to keep the kids occupied or a nice stroll around. Has access to main areas of Scotstoun/ Whiteinch &...

We went into the park through splendid red and gold wrought iron gates & walked down an avenue of trees. On the right were asphalt tennis courts, already busy with players. On the left was an area of grass with a number of dogs playing, watched by their owners. We walked on through a picnic area and on to the lake where swans, foots, moorhens, ducks and obligatory sea gulls swam and dived. Further round the lake and we came to the formal flower garden which was alive with colour. Walking further and we came across the kiddies playground frequented by lots of parents, well mums mostly, supervising their children as they were having fun. Strolling on we passed the bowling greens then came to an unkempt part of the park and watched people throwing sticks for their dogs. As well as all the activity going on there were people jogging and cycling in the park. What a wonderful park, set close to the centre of Glasgow with facilities for...

Disappointing to see Victoria Park Pond being as neglected by Glasgow City Council. People need to speak out and insist more is done to get rid of the green algae and clean the pond. Too many folk feeding birds bread despite signs telling them not to. Far less swans than previous years. And still too many gulls (& herons) taking youngsters of mallard ducks coots and moorhens. Witnessed a gull taking 2 coot chick's and eat them whole. Not nice. Even if it is nature. A great looking pond overall and lovely on a sunny day. Just sad to see it consumed by the green algae.

Great for a run, the circumference of the park is 1.6k (1 mile) if you follow the tarmac round the outskirts. Great for dogs, supposed to be kept on leash but if they're well behaved nobody minds them being off. As long as they stay off the flower beds, and clean up after them. The rugby pitch unfortunately has mess left by irresponsible owners, so be careful. Basketball and tennis courts. Play park with maze, swings etc. Fossil grove in the south west corner, very interesting. Look out for the flock of parakeets in the trees next to the pond, they must have emigrated!
