Definitely worth the wait. Breakfast here was phenomenal. The activity and atmosphere is definitely a mark of its success. Seen and seated within 30 mins. Ordered the pancakes ‘of the day’, smoked haddock rarebit poached egg leek, side of pickles and potato scone. The food was phenomenal, and I would have got a desert if I wasn’t so full. Staff were lovely and appreciative, especially being constantly busy. They took our phone number and would let us know when there was a space. Recommended from word of mouth, and it really didn’t disappoint. Out in a sticks a little bit, but more of an excuse to explore somewhere we haven’t been, or maybe wouldn’t have thought of. If you’re in the area, absolutely worth a visit.

What a lovely place. The menu isn't the largest but some quality ingredients in the meal choices. This place is built for breakfast / late brunch. The service was excellent with the waitress giving us more time to make out mind up about the order. The price seems steep but then you actually get the meal and see why. The food was to die for and so well presented, even had to take a picture of it. Impressive they poached both mine and my partners eggs to perfection. Not the biggest of places (5 tables from what I remember) but worth the wait! 10/10 would like to go back again and sample more of their delicious food.

There aren’t many foodie places in Whiteinch so it’s nice to have a viable brunch option that is truly local. Service was warm and personable. Coffees strong and fulfilling on a cold winters morn. The physical environment could be described as minimal and on this visit wasn’t fully up to room temperature on an early weekend arrival but we were first through the door. The food is right up there with some of the best but just missing that Je Ne Sais Quoi to elevate it to the next level. But make no mistake it’s wholesome and hearty and unpretentious. A lovely cafe well worth a visit.

Haylynn Canteen: A Simple Delight!

Intrigued by the promise of basic yet delicious fare, I ventured into Haylynn Canteen with modest expectations. The average decor did little to deter my enthusiasm, for it was the taste of the food that truly mattered.

To my delight, the menu offered reasonably priced dishes that exuded simplicity and flavor. Each bite was a testament to the joy of unpretentious dining, reminding me of the pleasure found in the heartwarming comfort of homemade meals.

The waitress attending to my table was a beacon of warmth and kindness, adding a touch of genuine hospitality to the dining experience. Her genuine care for patrons was evident, leaving me feeling welcomed and appreciated.

I will return to Haylynn Canteen without hesitation, eager to savor their delectable offerings and bask in the warmth of their...

This is a lovely cafe with friendly staff and good atmosphere hence the 3 stars. There was one vegan option called 'vegan surprise' which I asked about to get an idea of what it would be, I was informed that it would be made with whatever vegan items the chef had available today so at the time of order the waitress was unable to say what it would be. I was very disappointed with this and didn't want to order something I may not like so I ended up just having a drink whilst the other 5 friends I was there with were able to choose from the menu and get something they knew they liked. I don't understand why your non vegan customers can choose from a list of multiple fully described options and yet your vegan customers have one option and they have no...

We waited a full 40 minutes after ordering before finally asking a very fair question - when might our food arrive? Especially as tables were being served that arrived after us. Quite shockingly, this was taken very badly by one of the kitchen staff who actually marched out to confront us. He was not at all happy and he really let it be known. His attitude was unprofessional, inappropriate, slightly scary and bang out of order. We grabbed our belongings and couldn't get out fast enough. We can all have bad days but keep it away from the customers! I have still given 2 stars for the nice coffee which arrived after 5 minutes and for the pleasant waiter. The food arriving at other tables looked nice. It was our first visit and...
