Crosby Leisure Centre — Attraction in Sefton

This place used to be one of my favourite places to go to and workout/swim then afterwards get a sauna & steam and feel good about myself for doing so. It has all went downhill since the start of Covid-19. You have now got to book in through an app for a 55 minute workout and no longer, if you wish to re-enter you have got to leave the upstairs gym room mid workout and wait downstairs for 5 minutes. The gym facility is not the best I’ve seen and considering they charge £30 a month I would say it is definitely not worth the money for the facilities currently provided. Today I went in as I thought there was a fault with my app as it wouldn’t let me book in for a gym session, and spoke to the staff member behind the counter, and I was told that I had been banned from the gym because I didn’t show up to 3 separate sessions that I had booked in for, which was not true.. I had turned up 20 minutes to half an hour through the sessions booked, because as I thought I was paying with my own money for this gym membership, that I wouldn’t be banned for actually showing up to workout there halfway through the time I had booked. Most other gyms will let you turn up at whatever time you like no questions asked and you can get in without the hassle of having to speak to someone behind reception because you have been banned for going for a workout. The staff member was nice enough and lifted the ban for me, but the fact that I even had to go through all of this with the money I’m paying changed my mood, ruined my workout & made me feel not welcome there. Also the health suite with the steam room and sauna has been closed to public since the start of lockdown and even on may 17th with most restrictions being lifted they have not made any mention of it being re-opened through the emails they send. The only thing it seems they are doing is opening group workout classes which are not appealing to me or many others and I know some people will agree. I now face the decision of waiting it out in the hope of one day the health suite actually re-opening and paying £30 a month for a very small gym facility in a nice area with nice people, or cancelling the membership completely and finding a new place to go for a reasonable price with reasonable terms...

This place has gone down hill. Changing rooms are so dirty and the staff don't police the changing cubicles as ignorant people leave their kit in there so other people can't use them. The weights room is in serious need of a revamp, wall signs falling off, staff let people leave weights all over the place and they even let this one PT take over the whole free weight area for his comical "UFC" lessons, complained a number of times about this but nothing is ever done, oh and they let PT staff park in the disabled parking bays at the front as if it's a privilege, its discussting! The cafe is awful as well, the older lady that works behind there thinks she works in some sort of truck stop the way she talks to you and it is always out of stock of something or something isn't working! Front desk staff not welcoming at all, don't even acknowledge that you're even there most of the time, don't even say hello when you walk in, really basic public relations stuff this! I know this is a big rant but the management need to get a serious grip of this place and I will be leaving very soon if it...

Only went to the café - we were out and about and by the beach and it was warm and dry with ground coffee and toilets. The accessible toilet was locked the whole time we were there which made my life a lot harder as I didn't know that before drinking a coffee! The other toilets were much harder for me to use but at least possible for me on crutches: others would not have managed. Predictably as it's by the dunes, the other toilets were not very clean. A coat hook to keep bags and coats off the wet sandy floor would be a useful addition. The cafe overlooks the swimming pool where some kids were obviously enjoying their swimming lessons and both pools look fab. The coffee was a little bit weak for us - probably a bit too much water in the americano, or not a double shot, but probably as the machine makes it. It was warm and welcome though.
