The Oxford Bar. — Restaurant in Sefton

Sadly spent mother's day here today. Service was far too slow. We had to wait 1 hour between courses. Waitresses were hard working but when food came it was dry and over cooked and cold. Had to send burnt yorkshire puddings back. Cauliflower cheese missed off one of our plates. Few of us wanted to leave after waiting so long for main course. But rest of family were saying no dont make a fuss. We had 2 children with us who were getting upset with the wait. WILL NOT BE RETURNING sadly. Ruined mother's day even tho there was only 4 groups of tables celebrating service was awful. We did complain but didn't want to make a fuss in such small venue. To me they cudnt accommodate the amount of customers that attended which was a shame. Waitress knew we weren't happy. But it wasn't their fault

Sadly reading other reviews owner doesn't like criticism and truth. Not sign of customer satisfaction if owner doesn't listen and believe reviews. I would of loved to say it was amazing but sadly it wasn't...

Great little Restaurant and Bar on Oxford Road 👍 It has a nice relaxed atmosphere about it, and the decor, tables and seats are really warm and welcoming. Food is surprisingly good, I had the 3-Course set Menu - Satay Chicken Skewers, Sunday Lunch and a Cheese Board 😎 All food was delicious but the Sunday Roast was great (not like the usual 'Roasts' you find in Pubs) from the Honey-glazed Carrots to the Roasted Potatoes all made with great ingredients and perfectly cooked 😎 Service is really friendly and efficient, with no big delays between Courses 👍 The price for Food and Drink is really reasonable for the quality of food 🙂 Well worth a visit if you are...

I’ve never left a review before but after coming here I felt this was needed. Went for Mother’s Day with my family, we waited 1 hour between courses. When food came it was burnt and cold and not worth the wait. Staff were informed of this. It was as if the restaurant had taken too many booking for what they could cope with. We figured the reason you pre order your food was so they can prepare it weeks in advance and then try and microwave it when you’re there. Will not be returning and would not recommend to anyone.
