Bishops Caribbean Bistro — Restaurant in Sheffield

I have ordered today 02/07/20 and was extremely disappointed. After having a great meal with bishops carrabiean before lockdown, I thought I'd come back after lockdown. We ordered chicken curry and rice which was like a plate of salt and inedable , we also ordered the mutton curry which was a little better but still extremely salty, the rice and peas were the one of the only things we could eat, we had chips and the amount of salt added to them you couldn't taste the potatoes. After not being able to enjoy my meal I was looking forward to having the mango cheese cake afterwards and after second mouthful I bit into a seed that was nothing to do with the cheese cake so that got left as well. My boyfriend and I have been meaning to visit Bishops Caribbean Bistro for years and finally got our chance a few weeks ago! We ordered meal deal 2, jerk style prawns, roti, and chips... it was all BEAUTIFUL. I particularly recommend the mutton curry as it just melted in your mouth but everything was delicious. The portion sizes were great and we had plenty of leftovers. Shaun is the loveliest owner, so friendly and welcoming, and you can tell that he knows his food! Nothing is too much trouble and it's clear that his customers are the top priority. The results of the refurb are fantastic - it's worth collecting your food just to take a look! It really is some of the best food that we've had in a long, long time and we can't wait to go back again. Need to start by saying we've eaten from here many many times and ate in when you was able from day one. NEVER complained about anything - food, telephone order, service in general, delivery - nothing. But this time I didnt enjoy the experience as much as i would have normally. Telephone order great. Needed for 8 ish or slightly after but arrived at 7.40 which wasn't brilliant on this occasion . The guy who brought the food needs to work on his people skills, I found him quite blunt and rude. The food was hot, and we ate it all but I did find the mutton curry quite bland this time. We would obviously use again because this is the first time since it opened things wernt 110% and I find myself writing a slightly negative comment instead of a positive one which i do do.
