Cafe Des Amis — Restaurant in Sheffield

I read the reviews before going. I’m surprised by people saying warm atmosphere because I felt unwelcomed when I came in. After having a horrible night, I needed to get out the house and go somewhere with warm friendly atmosphere. Maybe because I’m not white, middle aged and upper class. I don’t know. But was just greeted with cold energy and unfriendly looks. Not one smile. Made me feel even lower when I wanted to treat myself to feel better. I watched every other middle aged white person get greeted with smiles and good service and it made me feel worse every time I witnessed it. However the food is nice. Can’t fault it really. The smoothie could be abit tastier. That’s it. Nice cafe. I would’ve been happy if I had experienced friendly service but no. Has put me off from going back. Spent £15 on food...

Extremely overpriced for "Lidl" food that was served....I had a Palestinian breakfast and my husband a Turkish breakfast, hot fool was nowhere to be seen on plate and his jams and turkish bread also a miss...it was that bad for nearly £30 we actually laughed.i couldn't believe that everything was bought and nothing homemade apart from egg (if they actually where), but like I said it was stuff bought from Lidl and there was nothing Arabic or Turkish about it...infact it brings shame on their foods. My advice stick to proper arabic restaurants for proper arabic food. They only take cash or bank transfer? 2 years ago when we went it was nice, clearly something has changed for the worse...it was unbelievably terrible and I wouldn't go back! And the price is disgusting for...

I don't mind paying over the odds for nice food, good service and somewhere decent and presentable but this place isn't it unfortunately. Went here for some brunch and ordered 2 different paninis, hummus with halloumi cheese and some orange juices. The service was okay but took a long time for the food to arrive. By the time the food did arrive it was warm and looked good however, the quality was very poor indeed. The ingredients tasted so cheap and generally not nice tasting at all. I'm disappointed as this was my first time visiting this place and from the reviews, it seemed like I would enjoy it but that wasn't the case. First...
