Hardy Pick — Restaurant in Sheffield

Hardy Pick is a well placed, large and open spaced pub owned by the Green King company. Update Oct 22, they have a breakfast special on, £7.49, it's a breakfast in a burger, 2 burgers, bacon, egg, chips on the side and beans. Looks fantastic. I had a chip buttie on this visit but it had a twist. Chips, pulled pork, a side of onion gravey on a bread roll with melted cheese inside. Looks simple, tasted delicious and was nice and filling. See photo below. Very modern decor and tastefully laid out. Predominantly an eating style pub serving a wide variety of pub style meals with a wide choice on the menu. They do have a pool table, Dart board and poker is played on a Thursday night at 8pm. Sports are also shown on TV I visited mid week and was surprised how many people were there, most were eating meals and the food looked excellent. I have heard good reviews about the food which is why I visited and can honestly say I wasn't disappointed. As well as the menu items there are daily specials. Parking is easy in a well lit carpark, disabled spaces are positioned right outside the entrance. Toilets are clean and to an excellent standard. Baby changing and disabled toilets are easily accessible. Seating inside was comfortable, outside seating is also available. Staff are pleasant and well presented in matching uniforms. This is a nice venue, I would highly recommend it. Service was excellent and no interruptions during your meal. Food cooked to order and arrived hot, all ingredients were quality items. The pub quickly emptied around 9pm, around the time when most people had finished eating which reinforced my view that this was mainly a pub grub venue but don't let this put you off from visiting as there are plenty of different beers available and the staff are very friendly and polite. I have come a couple of times now and I don't even live near here but it's one of my favourite Sheffield pubs!!

They have a big drinks selection for everyone from allsorts of beer, lager and cider on tap and of course my favourite... LOTS of spirits 😍🥰 rum, brandy, whisky, gin, wine whatever you could possibly want!!! Even tea and coffee 😁

Going on to the food.... I have never eaten anything here, thats not nice and delicious! The chicken new yorker is lovely and all their burgers too. On my last trip, I tried their Sunday dinners.... they do not hold back on portions (see pictures).

The food is reasonably priced and personally I think it's cheap for the amount you get. All food is fresh and comes out steaming hot 🤤🤤🤤

It's a good place for friends to catch up, to bring the family for a meal and leading onto my next part, very kid friendly!!

They have a gated play area on the back garden part and lots of lovely seating to relax on sunny days (if we ever have any🙄). Some arcades machines for children inside and a very wide ranged menu for adults and children.

I want to applaude the staff, they are all friendly, very helpful and go the extra mile! There was a mess up with our order but they gave us free desserts and was very apologetic about it so we was happy!

I want to mention naomi, our server at the time who was really friendly and amazing at her job and handled things professionally and had great customer service (give her a raise) 😁

Ordered the roast beef dinner today (27/08/23). Couldn't really call it a roast beef dinner as the beef was inedible, I couldn't get my knife and fork through the sinew and gristle. When the waitress came to take my plate, she was told about the beef...she mumbled under her breathe that she would tell the kitchen...no apology or anything. I wont be eating here ever again! They come and ask you if everything is alright with your food as soon as your plate hits the table but no apologies for bad meat...disgusting service.

It was a family meal, my partners sister was visiting from America and she paid for eveyones meal, there were four others having the roast beef dinner and I politely waited till last to have my meal served, and it looks like I got the bad end of beef as I couldn't get my knife and fork through it, my partner had the full monty grill and gave me his steak knife to try cutting it but still couldn't. When we had finished, the waitress came and took my plate and being as I was taking a drink at the time, my partner said to her my beef was awful, she didnt even look at us, just looked at the plates she was removing and mumbled something. I had to ask my partner what she had said and it was that she would tell the kitchen, I couldn't get any words out before she disappeared with the plates, no smile, no apology. I didn't have time to get her name but she was young, with ginger hair tied up. What was the procedure she was...
