Im actually disgusted. Went in for a quiet drink with my husband , there was no room downstairs to sit so went upstairs. The whole corner 2 large sofas and a chair ) were taken by 3 women, the one on the chair had her legs outstretched and her feet on the table. Asked to get past and she grudgingly obliged with a roll of her eyes. We sat in the corner near the window. My partner went to fetch another drink from the bar, again having to squeeze past. When he came back with the drinks , she saw him coming but did not move. He tried to squeeze past but because he has early stage MS, he lost his footing and stumbled onto the sofa. The woman shouted ‘oh my god’ ..my partner said , ‘well if you’d move your chair we could get past’ and I said ‘yes you only moved you chair 2 inches for me it’s very bad mannered’ she then accused my husband of being drunk because he stumbled , which was untrue and is due to his MS. And he only had on small glass of wine. The barman came to collect glasses and one of the women said ‘that man is having a go at us and he is very drunk’ .. I protested and as soon as I did the barman saidhe was throwing us out and if we didn’t leave he would call the police, even though he did not witness any of what happened. My partner was mortified as we had only come in for a quiet drink and his MS had been called out as drunkenness. Honestly I am never setting foot in there again....
Read moreKorean Dumplings: Spiciest and tastiest item we had tonight. The filling was lovely and the sauce complemented well. Different from any other Korean food I’d had before but what do I know? Definitely ordering again. Chinese Dumplings: Flavorful with a nice kick from the Schezuan peppercorn and filling (comes in a slightly bigger portion than the other steamed dumplings). Not ok for mushroom allergy ppl but I will be having again. Pancakes: I ordered it expecting buchimgae… dead wrong but that’s what happens when you make an assumption that the menu did not claim. It was like a garlic paratha with bang bang cole slaw on top. It was interesting and delicious. Kimchi Dumplings: Didn’t taste like kimchi (was it really fermented or was I confused by all the chilli oil?) but was pleasant in its own right. Korean Cauli Wings: Sweeter than I like but the crispness of the battered cauliflower was exquisite. Coming back to try the rest of the menu and the...
Read moreLovely atmospheric bar, with super friendly staff and a great selection of beer and wine. (Wine is better than nearby pubs, much as I love them too). For those who want to remained distanced and outdoors to avoid COVID, there is an outdoor area at the back that is pleasantly sheltered with some lovely plants.
The new food is absolutely incredible: dumplings, cauliflower wings, a beautiful steamed dumpling and brilliant slaw. I was persuaded to order the bang bang tofu and I have to say I'll never hesitate over it again, absolutely top notch.
Everything on the menu is vegan and a great deal of care has been taken to include gluten free options and to ensure the kitchen can cater to those with severe food allergies.
Can't thank these guys enough for all the care...
