Enjoyed a nice walk and fed the ducks and some of the birds too, especially a cheeky wood pigeon that was hanging around the cafe! Lots of areas of the park look great and seem to have been refurbished. The park appears to really encourage wildlife to make a home there which is lovely. I was pleased to see that there was very little rubbish (1-2 pieces) in river which seems to be a big issue in a lot of other places around Sheffield. The toilets are nice and clean and smell of citrus. I imagine the flower and sensory gardens look wonderful in the summer. Dogs are not allowed in the children's play area which should be kept in mind if you are planning to visit with both a dog and children. The children's play area only makes up a small part of the park though and the rest of the park is very dog friendly and there was lots of dogs enjoying themselves! There is a small boating lake that can be enjoyed but only opens in the summer months. There is ample parking but it is pay and display although cheap. Most people appeared to be parking on the road outside the park instead which is free and there are no restrictions at any time of day. There is a cafe with indoor and outdoor seating, a children's play area, tennis courts, a basketball court, bowling green, boating lake and skate park so a lot is on offer for a family day out. There is a pub just next to the park as well if a more substantial meal is required. I feel that there is something for everyone here. People seemed very friendly and lots of people said a cheery good morning...
Read moreA very nice park, totally different to anything the children are offered in the North of the city.dont mind paying to park but noticed many many cars parking in the road. The park is more suitable for younger children under 8 or 9 as the water features not suitable for most over 8 children bit disappointed for our two grandchildren aged 9 and 12, and the playground more suitable for smaller children, the adventure area a little better for them, the boating lake a plus and good value as eight pounds for a family of four. The really really down side of this park is the ONE female toilet, so queing and many accidents as children always leave it to the last minute, they were unclean.with cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and the light full of webs and dirt so all in all will go again but!!there is lots of room for...
