🥐🍞🥪@crumb.sheffield 🥪🍞🥐 📍Abbeydale Road
Crumb bakery has been on my list for a good while due to its great reputation as a serious bakers.
🕐We visited on a Sunday lunch time (late in the day on bakers hours) and they had quite low stock.
🥪We picked up a couple of ham, pesto and emmental sandwiches for lunch. I didn't expect to be super impressed by a simple sandwich but it was actually really lovely. The pesto was home made and made the sandwich moist, there was loads of sweet honey roast ham that was delicious, and the bread was very fresh and so satisfying to eat.
🥐We were also wowed by a blueberry cheesecake cuffin which was stuffed very full of delicious creamy filling but was still fuffy flaky and light. I also picked up my fave- an almond croissant, crispy nutty and heavy with not too sweet almond paste filling.
😍We couldn't fault their delicious food! 10/10 even with restricted choice.
Worth noting * there is no indoor seating which took us by surprise , due to the fact that they operate as a full bakery (and pizzaria!) There are benches outside but theres no cover which may leave you dashing back to the car halfway through a sarnie like us if the weather turns ☔ Also get there earlier than us if you want a full choice or have a particular item in mind !

Read moreBeen coming here for over 2 years, and today was my final time, due to the sheer price of products and partial because quality has just taken a decline, today i paid almost 9 pound for a sandwich... tough bread one slice of the thinnest ham like paper cheap cheese and crushed olives.... 9 pound.... ive had pitta wraps filled with 2 different meats hallumi salad and sauces bigger than my head for 10 so for a price comparison to what you get here its a joke. then the dessert was a cruffin... basically no filling and the dough still raw inside this was close to 5 pound... They used to have a constant wide range of products changing every week. Now its the same boring things every week. The pizza oven that used to be a staple is now no more than a mere drinks stand for the staff. And with their idea board on the wall being blank every week im guessing the love for the products has gone or just been sold into a mass produced system like the rest of them. The products dont taste the same as they used to and the options are getting slimmer by the day with prices rising? You either need a loan to eat here or be extremely well off. The staff are mainly always polite and helpful odd few come and go that dont produce any manners but for the most part the...
Read moreOk so this place is scarily good. I mean, if you like almond croissants be warned they do this almond thing that will make you a crying mess on the floor because it will ruin average almond croissants everywhere else for life. Also the Boston cream. Let's talk about this. They've invented a cream that when you eat it, transcends you across time and space into some sort of heaven like intergalactic portal of pleasure and extravagance, a journey of hedonistic playfulness that is hard to come back from to await a Tesco's delivery and put the big wash in.
This place has shook me. It is, wait for it, an ACTUAL bakery. I know! In the south of Sheffield I hear you cry! It's not just about grossly inflated prices for slightly unique stuff, it is reasonable for the MOST DELICIOUS OF ALL TREASURES. Do not be fooled by the youthful glow of the guys who work there, that they may just be doing summer jobs .. they have deadly ju jitsu like skills with pastry and dough. Choose wisely.
