Visited this place recently after some time. It was a warm day, and I thought it would be nice to visit with family. The food used to be really good here, but I didn't have the appetite at the time, so I just ordered a coffee for myself, 2 milkshakes for the grandchildren, and just water for my son. I can't comment on the milkshakes. They looked nice, and the kids had most of them. However, the coffee tasted like brown coloured water, absolutely zero taste. I've had better instant coffee at home. How this could even be considered coffee is a mystery to me. Would be better if they just made instant instead of serving tasteless brown water and calling it 'Americano ' ....

Average caf. Staff seems a little run off their feet on a Sunday. Keen and eager to clear plates away. Not really looking at the mess on the floor that customers trample on repeatedly. Food average. Toilets clean. Adult portions are ok. Kids portions a little pathetic and not as healthy as should be- frozen oven food/ tinned beans. Could do better.

Lovely little cafe in the park. Nice ice cream, home made cakes (Easter egg scotch egg!) And a good range of food on the menu. Coffee is brilliant with some nice specials like the amaretto latte! Child, dog and family friendly. Right by the boating lake, but out of sight of the play park sadly.

Really horrible experience here today. One of the staff members (who may have been the manager) asked my brother in law to take his child outside as said child (2 years old) was crying. My brother in law had to leave their food, which had just arrived, and go outside. His other child was left inside and started crying as he wanted to be with his dad, so it ended up with the three of them sitting outside away from the cafe, crying, with the food inside going cold. While I understand that it's not ideal for a child to be crying, 2 year olds do act out from time to time and you'd expect a cafe in the middle of a park next to a playground to have seen this kind of thing before and to be understanding. The cafe was full of kids and very noisy as it was a Saturday lunch time. When I told the staff member I was very shocked and upset that they were sent outside she didn't apologise for her behaviour, she simply said "I'm sorry you feel that way" as if it was my problem. When another customer complained about the treatment, another staff member did offer to pack up their food in a take away box for them to come and collect, but unsurprisingly they had lost their appetites. I am so saddened by what happened, which has knocked the confidence of a single father who is a wonderful dad...

Visited the cafe this afternoon with my granddaughter and her fiance and younger grandson and my husband. Ordered 2 tuna melts a fish finger sandwich a bowl of chips a tea and a latte. 40 minutes later we received the above NO APOLOGY given even though our buzzer went off at 30mins and we were asked what we'd ordered and they said there had been a mix up. The chips werent hot but we didn't take them back as we didn't want a further wait. The most annoying thing was people who arrived after us were being served. They told another gentleman who was having the same problem there was a notice on the counter stating there was a 20minute delay and staff were informing customers of this. Neither myself or the other gentleman were informed about this. This service spoilt our afternoon in the park as we were all very annoyed with the service we received. Really think something needs to be done about the service as probably other people wont be ordering food which I won't do on future visits...

This cafe is now so disappointing. The quality of the food has nose dived over the last eighteen months but the prices haven't! Went in there today for lunch with my partner. We both ordered quiche chips and salad 6.50 a portion. The quiche was gross. Made with powdered egg I think with a texture of lumpy porridge. Sloppy and slimy. Heated in the microwave so the pastry was soggy. The chips were obviously of the frozen cheap kind and the only reason I ate those was because I was hungry and they were marginally better than the quiche. At least the dog benefited because he got most of the quiche. I honestly rarely write negative reviews but this meal deserves to be off the menu. My advice is that if you want to eat in this cafe stick to food that can't be rubbished. Toast and eggs and maybe the cakes. Not sure...
