Taco Mex Abbeydale road, — Restaurant in Sheffield

We ordered here after being keen to try their new site that opened near us, hoping for a better experience than with their London Road shop a few years ago.

Order arrived 50 minutes late (we are about 0.5mi away). We had to call the shop twice to ask about the progress and when to expect the food. We wouldn’t have minded if they gave us an accurate delivery time at the start, but it left us ravenous waiting for food that we didn’t know when it would arrive. It was warm, and all items arrived (unlike when we ordered from their London Road location a few years ago).

Burritos were veggie, but contained vegan cheese (which was not requested). Burritos were very rice heavy, with much less of other fillings, which was a shame. We also ordered grande nachos for £10 and it was probably a mistake. It was a good large portion, but not much cheese (and again vegan, which we didn’t want), and a lot of raw onion (not to our tastes). We did request no chilli peppers but it arrived with them - not the end of the world as it was a sweet kind that I enjoyed a couple of, but meant they didn’t read our requests. All items were missing sour cream.

Overall, it was edible, and it did arrive, but we won’t be recommending this place or ordering...

We ordered a takeaway from here a few months ago and the food was awful.

It turns out they are now trading as 'Papi Taco' on UberEats/Deliveroo/JustEat (as well as still trading as 'Taco Mex') and we ordered without realising - the food just arrived and it's still awful.

The burrito we ordered contained the wrong meat and was basically just rice, beans and a tiny amount of (wrong) meat - it was dry, cold and missing all of the sour cream, salsa and queso that was ordered.

The burrito bowl came with no meat and no salsa, despite ordering both.

The Papi's nachos were stale and bland.

At the time of writing there are no contact details nor address for 'Papi Taco' available on the web, but if one clicks on the food hygiene rating for 'Papi Taco' in Deliveroo it takes you to the food hygiene rating for 'Taco Mex'. Given 'Taco Mex' has received some dreadful reviews since opening, it seems the owners have (rather deceptively) rebranded as 'Papi Taco' but continue to deliver...

The order was late. Possibly never turning up. the tel number for the restaurant goes to a different restaurant. I message to say my food is recorded as delivered but has not turned up. no reply. Called and was told the driver had broken down and was to give me extra portions(?) How can he do that if he is on the road? The food is 1 hour late. The restaurant is giving me the run around. Refused to refund my delivery fee. Food was meant to arrive at 1840 and arrived at 1945. The food was cold.

No communication from the restaurant. Awful service. Will not...
