I was Very Impressed. Excellent displays in what is a very pleasant environment. The staff are well informed and helpful. Great collection of uniforms and badges and quite a breathtaking collection of medals. The castle itself is in a magnificent spot. I would have liked to spend more time both inside and out taking in the views but as its bitterly cold I moved on quicker than I expected. One point is that it is Not disabled friendly. Interesting local museum, particularly if you have a connection to the area. It contains a few specially unusual items included captured items from the American War of Independence. It is housed in Shrewsbury castle. parts of which are difficult to access, no criticism of the museum however, it's in the nature of the building. Otherwise an inexpensive afternoon. Took 6 and 11 year old boys here, they enjoyed doing quiz sheet, staff lovely, especially in shop at the end. Gifts reasonable, toilets but no cafe, was cheap to get in, killed a couple of hours, museum in castle, so get to see some of castle too, if you don't like military stuff then no point going unless you want to see inside the castle!
