There's nothing wrong with the drinks or food here. All good stuff. But the staff need a reminder that when you walk into a cafe and you are the ONLY person at the counter (no queue) it's customary to say 'hello' and serve you at once. The two clowns who work here have little interest in this. I might as well have been attempting to be a HORSE WHISPERER. Just because you have a beard and trousers which are too tight (well the male clown did) doesn't make you a social media/coffee shop business genius. Say 'hello' - say 'good morning I'll be with you in just a moment', don't carry on with your behind the counter chat just because some chocolate brownie eating Guardian readers have given you 5 stars on instagram. And please slap the customers who are SHOUTING banalities into their mobile 'phones. I do not want to know that 'JOHN IS ON HIS WAY BUT CLAIRE IS A BIT LOST' - this adds nothing to my life. Run a good business. Make people...

There are only a few places in Shrewsbury that serve excellent coffee and this is definitely up there with the best. First of all the customer service was really good, the staff actually seemed interested in our day and what we were up to which is always nice. Secondly, the simplicity of what is offered and the relaxed vibe made it a very enjoyable 'coffee & cake' experience.

You won't get much more here menu wise, but with them offering a wide spectrum of events in the evening hosted by local acts and artists, there's very much more going of than just the relaxed coffee house that it feels like, I'll be back for a jazz night or comedy night or a quiz...

It's such a shame. We've always been regular visitors to this lovely place. I've never had any issues with customer service but today they seem to have new staff that are just downright rude. We had a miscommunication with our order and we were met with an attitude of tough that's what you ordered. It was dealt with afterwards but Staff were still hostile. Staff seem like they don't want to be there and seem abrupt and unapproachable. Having been a manager in another independent coffee shop in Shrewsbury it upsets me to think customers are being responded to in that way. I would never have allowed...

I had a very long and tiring work trip from London to Shrewsbury today, with a 5am start, and it was entirely worth it for the BLT at this place. I have never eaten a better sandwich in my life. Utterly sublime bread (which I believe is from the baker down the road). Freshly cooked hot crispy bacon. Juicy tomatoes, perfectly seasoned. Lettuce that had been DRESSED which makes all the difference. The perfect amount of mayo. Served with a perfect iced coffee. Incredibly friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere to boot? I am genuinely sad I live so far away, or I would be here all the time.

Pleasant atmosphere but where other cafes (e.g. Attingham) charge 50p for a babyccino or even offer them for free with an adult drink (e.g. Furnace), the tiny babyccinos are £2 here. Sadly both of our flat whites (£3.20ea), whilst pretty, were really quite bitter. I suspect it was that the barista burnt the coffee rather than that it was a particularly bitter roast because it would be an unusual choice to use such a roast as your house blend. Would have asked them to remake them if we weren’t in a hurry.

They're getting 5stars easily because of their efforts to make this place amazing. Great location 2mins walk from train station. Super cool staff and great quick service even they were very busy. What I enjoyed the most is fresh coffee and awesome atmosphere. They make this place very cosy and make you feel at home. Very well seatings, clean and tidy and that's all customers need. Surely coming back again and highly recommend.
