We ordered a breakfast bap and we got a monster breakfast ciabatta! Value town! This is quality stuff too, two lovely big snags grilled tastefully to a golden brown and two gorgeously runny fried eggs. Wallop! The coffee is great too, and it's service with a smile in the lush surroundings of Shrewsbury Castle, an area littered with overpriced tourist-traps - but I can wholeheartedly recommend a trip to At Nicholas on your next visit! 🔥9/10🔥

Visited for lunch during a short stay. We opted for sandwiches with a side of chips. The sandwich was very large and the chips, absolutely delicious! Some of the best chips I've ever eaten. The prices were very reasonable and the service ok. Two sandwiches, chips and a coffee with change from £20! Would recommend for lunch and the menu looked good for evening too.

Me and Tom had a great time here. We were nervous at first because it came across quite posh! They have an amazing set menu and the staff are wonderful. We got served by I've gentlemen who was delightfully helpful. There was a old lady birthday party in at the same time as us and the atmosphere was amazing. I would most definitely eat here again.

I came here for new years, having come last year and having a wonderful time.....but this year was no where near the same quality. Having pulled off the perfect party last year I can't see how you can get things so wrong this time. First problem, you ran out of food within 30mins! I can understand not having enough food for 2 hours but food to last only 30mins is appalling. I came in a group 8 AND invited a friend who brought 16 people with her and 4 of us managed to get food. 4 out of 24 is not a good ratio. Next thing, the band. As a professional musician I agree the band were talented but their choice of songs were unusual. I think I only recognised about 5 songs they played. Then by the time we got to 11.30 they seemed to be struggling, whether they had run out of songs to play but it became an unorganized mess. Then when it got to midnight they had no big build up as before I knew it we were counting down to midnight! Next, the toilets! I appreciate that this year you had men's and women's toilets separately, which is a big improvement on last year's toilet situation. But by 10 the men's toilets at least we're a health and safety nightmare. Bottles on the floor, wet paper towels overflowing out of the bin onto the whole sink area AND the floor. Surely it's not hard to ask someone to check them every now and then to see if they're clean or not. All this meaning that a big bulk of the people I had invited left BEFORE midnight! How embarrassing for me!! To recommend this place to find out that it will actually ruin your new years celebrations. My final complaint.........I emailed this all to you , and have had no reply. I know that email works as I had a conversation with you on new years eve before I arrived so I have not even received an apology from you, which is just simply rude never mind poor customer service. I also posted this review on the facebook page and they have now REMOVED the review section rather than reply. How unprofessional and simply pathetic!

Believe me when I say that myself, my 8 friends and the other 16 people that came because of me (that's 24 people) will NEVER walk into your establishment ever again, never mind celebrate our new years with you.

I hope this complaint actually...

I dont rate food that much being an ex caterering Co owner but this food was well below par for what i paid , WHERE was the blue cheese and olives on a blue cheese and olive pizza , 4 pieces of sunblush tomato on a 14" pizza ?? , all i seem to get was a mozzarella pizza infested with tomato sauce , the chips where soggy and really not edible , the garlic pizza bread was pitiful , skinny , dry and to burnt at the edges to give it a second glance , the boxes of so called food where cheap looking, not what you expect from St Nics ( when you pay £5.00 more for a pizza) basically it was prepared way to early and delivered way to late , i loved the place but since the new owners , its got tacky , much better out there , £23.00 mostly thrown away...

Food was very nice, we had a portion of "filthy fries" that came with 3 different cheeses, and was smothered in bacon jam which I must say was delicious, it was slightly expensive however the portion size was huge, enough for one hungry person or a good sized snack for two people. They had no clotted cream for the scones something that could have been sorted by a quick trip down the road to the local Tesco or Waitrose, however they did make up for this by offering some complimentary brownies. Service wasn't ideal, they appeared to have the staff but not the communication, we had to wait over 10 minutes for a pot of tea that appeared to have been forgotten. The restaurant was very clean and nicely laid out and the staff were...
