We did the Creepy Cambridge tour with Stacey and would highly recommend. The tour lasted approximately 1h 45m and we walked around 2km at a gentle pace. Stacey was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about her subject matter, had fantastic props to bring her stories to life and interacted well with everyone on the tour, answering questions and allowing time for people to take photos. We learnt lots of history, heard lots of spooky tales and discovered some interesting places we decided to go back to the following day. We went on the tour as a family and our 9 year old loved it. I would say children need to be age 8+ to really get something from it. Overall excellent tour and well worth the money.

Had a wonderful and very informative tour around the spookiest places in Cambridge with our tour guide Peter. Early September gave the atmosphere a pleasant temperature into the evening and the city was quiet with the absence of tourists and students, which added to the unsettling stories Peter shared with us. From the origins of famous turns of phrase to tragic stories of suicides, drownings and ghostly apparitions, Peter really knew it all and was an engaging and erudite - I would highly recommend anyone considering this tour to go ahead and book!

This was a fabulous guided tour - we had a very friendly but professional guide in Ben. He was not only informative in telling the tales at various sites throughout the city but he responded well to questions from myself and my 13 year old. We learned so much more about Cambridge and its history than we would on a self-guided tour. I particularly enjoyed going down alleyways and dark narrow streets that I would otherwise have avoided at night! A very enjoyable experience - well worth the fee. Highly recommended - thank you!

On the Website it says the following: "Our walking tours of Cambridge are uniquely entertaining and genuinely funny. If you’re actually wanting a walk around our historic city that you’ll enjoy so much you’ll wish it lasted longer, rather than counting down the minutes till it’s over, we really hope you’ll try us out." Combined with the 5-star Tripadvisor ratings, it seemed a no-brainer to go on this tour, and expectations were accordingly high. The trouble with high expectations is that you set yourself up for disappointment, which applies in this case.

Our tour guide was not engaging at all, and quite uninspiring. We didn't feel the love and passion we usually get from guides on similar walking tours. His knowledge seemed extensive, but he was unable to share it with the group in a captivating manner. In fact, it was more a matter of rattling off the background story for each location (with a limited level of humour), then briefly asking the group whether anyone had any questions, before walking off at lightning speed to the next destination, at times making it difficult for us to keep up! I got the feeling he just wanted to get the job done as efficiently as possible, and if that was indeed the aim, then he succeeded, because the tour ended five minutes earlier than scheduled. Tick. Job done.

I didn't wish it lasted longer, as suggested on the Website. In fact, I was actually glad when it was over, so that we could go for a drink. My partner felt the same.

So, given the promises made on the Website, and the quite significant charge, I cannot hide my disappointment. In that context, I feel that my 3-star rating is...

Cool tour, nothing super gruesome so child-friendly (unfortunately for me, I was expecting more creepy stuff). The walking is nice and the areas beautiful but nothing you won’t see by just walking around the most touristy areas in old town. Some of the stories we have heard before during our punting tour a few hours prior, so I guess all tour guides in the city rehash the same stories over, which was a bit of a letdown. With all that said, we liked our guide a lot, he had great energy and made the whole thing very fun! Super friendly and responsive to additional questions, as well as genuinely interested in us and our experience. Thank you Alex, you...
