Green King Exception

Trying to review the pubs of Cambridge therefore entered this pub.

I can't remember how many Green King pubs I have reviewed already, as mostly having similar menus.

But not Sir Issac Newton. It has different menu than other Green King pubs.

Therefore ordered lamb Sunday roast and Newton burger to try.

I was so impressed that the Sunday roast had more than just carrots, parsnips and potatoes. It had broccoli and cauliflower too. Looking colourful.

The lamb was cooked with a non spicy curry sauce, rather than just mint. Very different but worked well.

From vegetables and meat, everything was cooked well. Crispy Yorkshire pudding.

The burger too, so glad that the burger patty was not too lean, otherwise it would be too dry and hard for my liking.

The pub located at a quiet side of Cambridge town centre. Therefore less busy than other pubs.

The restaurant was clean and tidy. The staff were nice.

I think it's important for pubs to provide something different, otherwise customers would not remember you, finally would not return.

It's a Green King pub that I would...

I have been to the Sir Isaac Newton to watch the Euro 2020 match Italy Vs Austria. The pub is huge (two floors) and has space with tables outside as well. There is also a room with a billiard table. I have had one of their pies (steak and blue stilton cheese) and it turned out to be delicious (one of the best I have had so far in Cambridge). They have a good variety of beers (ales and draughts). My friends have been impressed by the quality of food too. The pies are a bit more expensive than in other places I have been but their flavour justifies the price. Finally, the staff has been gentle, polite and available. So if you are near the city centre and want to have good food and beer, this is the place you...

I’m incredibly late to post this and for that you have my apologies. This is a very non-traditional pub review haha! Over a year ago, I got married to the love of my life and we decided to have a simple reception at The Sir Isaac Newton. From the first time we met Alissia, she was incredibly accommodating and we had a great experience with her. The night before, we decorated the whole place with what we could, they helped set up the tables according to my seating plans, the food was excellent and all in all I have nothing but love and respect for this pub and all its staff. I will never forget this place as it’s tied to one of the best days of my life. Thank you for making that happen, you’ll always be...
