The museum is a labour of love, and you will love it. Housed in the town's most historic house, the building itself is worth the admission alone. Home of the Royal Navy from Edward III, check. Geoffrey Chaucer visit? Check. Spanish Armada attack fleet? Check. Sir Walter Raleigh visit? Check. Stop-off for the Mayflower? Check. English Civil War battle? Check. D-Day landings departure port? Check. I had no idea of all this. The David Hulse steam engine model collection was brilliant as well.
