Another very useful shopping mall with parking, lifts, escalators, toilets etc.All under one weather proof roof. And all helping to keep everyone happy while they are busy shopping.I was particularly interested in the fashionable shirts and accessories. Which you sometimes have to travel to London for. But since September 1991 the Marland Shopping mall has changed all of that. Back in 1991 it was the largest shopping mall in Southampton and the first significant shopping mall in the city. However it has since been dwarfed by Westquay shopping mall in 2000. In the Marland Shopping mall there are about 60 different Stores,Cafés & Restaurants including; Costa Coffee, Frederick's Chocolates, F.Hinds,Cards Direct, American Candy, Glamour Forever,Moss Bros, People's Pride Southampton,Sea life play Centre,CEX, Savers,UK Shaolin Centre, Supercuts, Starbucks and Rock bottom Toy store. Opening hours are; Monday to Saturday 8.30am-10.00pm Sunday 10.00am-10.00pm (each individual store may operate at different times within these hours) Although not every disability is visible Marland Shopping mall do a very good job of looking after a lot of disabilities with accessible parking, shopping and Radar operation toilets. Lifts, escalators and ramps. There is a 810 space multistorey carpark and Electric Charging points (6×type 2). The shopping mall also has wheelchairs and mobility hire services. Shop mobility service provides manual and electric wheelchairs and mobility scooters to people with a limited mobility. Enabling them to access the city centre and shop independently. Southampton City shopmobility is situated within the Westquay...
Read moreThe Marlands Shopping Centre was opened on 5 September 1991. At the time, the Marlands Shopping Mall was the largest shopping centre in Southampton and the first significant shopping centre in the city (East Street Shopping Centre being well out of the way of the main shopping district hence never being very successful and the Bargate Centre being much smaller), however it is now dwarfed by WestQuay, which opened in 2000.
The Marlands Shopping Centre was constructed to a postmodern design, which was described at the time of opening by one critic as looking like "something made of Lego". The Centre was built on the site of Southampton's bus station (the city is now without such a facility), a popular rose garden and some terraced housing which had become shops, on Manchester Street. These were destroyed in 1988 to make way for the shopping centre, despite local opposition. A replica of the Manchester Street shops was constructed as part of the Centre's atrium.[4]
The centre is laid out across two levels, with escalators connecting them at the North West entrance and escalators and glass lifts connecting them in the atrium, at the South of the centre. Unlike most of its contemporaries, the Marlands Shopping Centre does not contain a car park of any kind - the designated car park for the centre is accessed by going through Southampton's unusual ASDA supermarket which is on a slope - you go in on the ground floor and come out on the tenth floor - and across a bridge.

Read moreVery huge shopping mall which almost has everything reacted to day to day living. The place is best filled with good people and many stores that welcomes people to buy or to server with the best what they can do to their customers. I loved to buy vegetables from the Marlands which is fresh and good quality with cheaper prices. The Marlands shopping center is located at the center portion of the city center of southampton and almost every bus route connects to this point right in front of Marlands. The stop is dedicated for Marlands shopping center which includes name as ASDA & MARLANDS stop or you can get of at civic center if you wish to walk into Marlands even faster if your were traveling g from airport, Portswood, eastleigh, Bitten park or portsmoth area direction.
It has a dedicated parking service which is very huge and vast
The marlands is one of the very fast moving shopping center and we can trust on their quality and hygenicity. The Marlands shopping center will always have a specific team to grab and dispose the unwanted materials and waste, very well managed by the supervisor. Each and every shop at the Marlands are bit affordable to buy any products for day to day purposes and durability of the products depends upon the useage
Overall I'm totally satisfied with the Marlands Shopping...
