I really want to support these independent restaurants but hope they can make some much needed changes without getting Gordon Ramsey in. A dosa restaurant with non veg options sounded great. Went for a birthday meal but sadly was quite disappointed. Basically, our starters arrived staggered at 20 min intervals so couldnt really enjoy it. One main (dosa) was bought out with the first lot of starters so we sent it back to come with all our main courses. 2 main courses came out, but 20 mins later I had to ask what had happened to the other 2. I was told they're just coming. Took me to ask again and was told they were not made as we sent the dosa back. The dosa came out reheated so not impressed. Veg food was ok, non veg not impressed. Photo of Chicken cher (v.dry and crumbly) samosa was ok, Mysore masala dosa, (soggy and supposed to have spicy chutney but wasn't) chana bhature was nice. Had tawa fish too which was ok but fish a bit dry. Management made a big mistake being absent on a busy Saturday night and left in the hands of inexperienced students. They did the best they could under the circumstances but there needs to be a big organisational shake up if today's visit is to go by. We eventually got an apology instead of justifications so I'd love to go back and will do, everyone deserves a 2nd chance. Hopefully better luck next time. Note: be specific about how you want the food e.g spice level (chicken madras was not spicy) dosa was soggy as apparently you have to ask for it to...
Read moreVery poor, service, pathetic food. The waiters appeared not enthusiastic and not interested in what customers want. The food was very low standard. We ordred butter chicken what we got was awfull just chunks of chicken in what looked like Pumpkin puree!!! and we couldn't finish. We were still hungry and wanted to order something different, got tired of waiting for the waiter, tried to look around to make them aware that we want their attention. Nobody came and one of them was on their phone! We got annoyed and angry the fact that, we came here to have a good time but ended up being angry and frustrated. We as customers need a better service for the money we pay. The lady waitress had a frowned face through out serving and was on the phone when we want to order something different . but thank god we didn't , unfortunately my kid was hungry and she had veesu parotta and before we could get home she started to have tummy pain and once reached home she had an upset tummy. The toilets were absolutely disgusting. Place was dusty, I am not sure how they passed the food hygiene standards. Last time when we visited the food was delicious, I am sure the cheff is not the same as then. Such an awfull, disgusting place. Never ever going to visit this place in our lifetime. We dont recomend this disgusting...
Read moreLovely atmosphere. Amazingly delicious food. Friendly staff. Neat toilets. So it was really a good experience. It's excellent hence 4 star. One staff member was smiley and welcoming. The other was not so welcoming. But the food is great. We went back again and had the same level of delicious food and the service was warm and welcoming. The price was even reasonable and worth the food. We had a plate of idli vada, gobi 65, tea, schezwan fried rice, paneer butter masala with plain parotta, and finally Rasmalai. They were yummm. This is a go to place for me in Southampton. Day-2 update... We loved it so much that we went the next day for lunch again. We had a plate of idli, Mysore masala dosa, ghee roast podi dosa, as usual tea, and gulab jamun. The jamun were like home made instead of the store brought ones. Perfect sugar consistency and smoothness. Would love to re visit again to try out other dishes. The staff were friendly and were happy to see the same faces. They were smiling and chatting which made us feel more welcoming and they even helped us with the order. Really happy about the visit. Tummy full, heart full :) Became a regular. We park the car below asda (beside the bus station) and walk up to...
