My wife and I had a very bad experience during our visit to Sea City Museum today( 21/02/2024 - 16:00 between 17:00) . We came to visit from Poole Dorset with my wife and before we set off, we checked the closing time on the internet and confirmed that it was 05pm. When we arrived at the ticket office, the male officer said that they had closed the system and they could not let us into the museum section, the last entry time was 4pm. We told him that we came from a far and that we checked the opening and closing hours on the internet and saw that the last closing time was 5pm. At the time of this conversation, it was 04:05Pm. We asked the officer working at the ticket office if there would be no problem but could we shop at the gift shop, and he said yes, you could, but he even described the entrance of the gift shop incorrectly and did not want to let us in, then when he couldn't find it, he showed us the correct entrance when I asked him again. While my wife and I were looking for gifts, we wanted to use the toilets. As we were walking towards that part, we saw the model of the Titanic ship, which was in a section that was not yet accessible to the museum. My wife wanted to take a photo of it. At that moment, the lady officer next to the model said that we could not take a photo because we did not have a ticket. We conveyed what we wanted and as we were returning, we saw that the male officer at the ticket office, who did not want to let us in, came towards us angry and quickly. He tried to throw us out in a rude and harsh manner. When we asked him why he did this, he again rudely and harshly told us that you were leaving the museum immediately. Even though my wife and I said that we wanted to do more shopping and that the gift shop was not closing time, he was rude to us and warned us that you were leaving here immediately. I told him that he could not talk to us like that and that I would complain about him. I asked for his name. He immediately hid his badge and avoided giving his name, and started arguing loudly with me. So I asked him to call my request to talk to his manager. When the manager of the museum arrived, the lady understood us and apologized for the situation and wanted to help us, but meanwhile the male officer at the ticket office continued to verbally attack us and was eventually removed by the manager. The museum manager apologized to us for the situation and said we could use the gift shop. We thank her. However, my wife and I are complaining about the male officer working at the ticket office, who doesn’t want to give his name, and his actions towards us were a complete disappointment and we demand that he be...

Read moreI recently visited the Seaview Museum in Southampton, which was conveniently located near my hotel. On my way to the museum, I strolled through Watts Park and came across the Southampton Cenotaph, a First World War memorial designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens. When i arrived at the museum, I was expecting a traditional English architectural building, but the museum's modern design surprised me. There weren't many visitors, likely because it was a weekday.
The Titanic exhibition was particularly impressive and well-presented. I recommend completing the full circuit, as some visitors miss the second half. The exhibition effectively brings the Titanic story to life by sharing the personal stories of individuals, highlighting the tragic loss of many lives, particularly among the crew who were residents of Southampton. There are also moving oral accounts from survivors.
One of the highlights for me was the audio re-enactment of parts of the inquiry following the disaster, played in an old courtroom—appropriate since the museum is housed in the former courthouse. Besides the Titanic exhibition, the museum offers a quick overview of Southampton's history from Roman times and beyond, featuring artifacts from various archaeological finds. I spent at least a couple of hours exploring the museum and found it to be a deeply...
