This is a great place to take a walk, there is a good trail that leads around the edge and into the woods following the river back to the car park.
In the summer I take my kids down on their bikes, there is a small off road mountain bike trail with a few jumps that they love.
The river is clean and not strong flowing, there are plenty of areas where you can wade out and cool off in the summer, it's even deep enough to swim in parts!
Plenty of room to take a picnic and to throw an aerobie around, a firm favourite with my children!
The playground is aimed at younger children around the 5 year old mark, there is a solitary larger swing for older children, but the play frame and roundabout are most definitely for the little tots.
The car park is safe and I am yet to see a car be broken into. It's also free to park which is a definite plus.

A Lovely park with several facilities. But there are no toilets here. There is a regular Saturday Park run and Sunday football leauge for both children and adults. There are pleasant walks along the river Goyt with many mature trees and it is also dog friendly. There is a very early iron bridge and the canal is also nearby. The park used to be the grounds of Brabyns Hall now sadly, long demolished.
