Henley-in-Arden Heritage Centre — Attraction in Stratford-on-Avon

Everywhere seemed to be closed in Henley in Arden so I was thrilled to discover the Heritage Centre and its treasure trove of objects. My brother and I learnt so much and we reminisced about old confectionary and school classroom as we could relate.

We spent ages looking around the many rooms and in the garden. It was really nice that a staff member approached us to check how we were doing and if we’d visited the garden. This opened the way for an extensive discussion on the Anderson Shelter, World War 1 and 2 and education from era. The staff member was very knowledgeable and helpful and even took us to a model of tunnels used during the war to provide additional information. I heard my brother talking alto another member who f staff who he described as professional.

Some of the items in the centre are everyday items. And it made me aware of the fact I’m always clearing out. Perhaps I should keep things that may be of interest to future generations! Should also keep digital images and photographs as they may be of...

What a lovely place. The couple I spoke to were engaging as we chatted about Tandems, the town in general and the history of the place. There are maybe 7 rooms stuffed with memorabilia, usual old school museum stuff that if you are older than 50 will think 'I used that' One room shows the American connection and is fascinating. Ignore the one star review about the toilet, these are volunteers (thankyou) and it's the way to ask combined with 'compassion fatigue' to the same question that probably...

Such rude people In here. They allow use of the garden for people getting ice cream next door but won't let you use their toilet when getting ice cream next door. It's fine to say no but there's a way to do that without being blatantly rude and ignorant. I won't be going back and would advise that noone else does. Their attitude...
