What an absolute gem this place is - we love it. We meet my elderly mother here occasionally as she lives nearby and we live on Oxfordshire. The food is fabulous...cakes are scrummy...so hard to choose...coffee is excellent..and as a lover of black coffee there's alot of poor quality coffee being served around the place...but not here! We had sandwiches today and I had the coronation chicken which was delicious...fresh granary bread...and huge. I didn't think I was going to finish it..but I did :) Have had pasties and jacket potatoes previously and they are all delish! The place was busy and lively..but easy to get a table...a table were drinking prosecco with their lunch which looked fun....and had a steady stream of people coming in and out..different age groups..all friendly which is wonderful to see. The team that run the Henley Kitchen & Bakery are super friendly, helpful and professional. It's such a great experience going here and I can only wish the Henley Kitchen & Bakery continued success and recommend others to go to. We will be back...
Read moreShockingly bad service and rude woman running the place. I went in for 2 oat milk flat whites, and I decided to try and support the small store by buying a few extra items (bread & Orange juice)
The Orange juice upon sipping when I got to the car was off. Undrinkable - as were the revolting coffees. When I went back and politely told the woman who served me that it tasted horrific she then proceeded to drink the juice from the bottle we’d drank from (bizarre) and argued with myself then my husband who went in after me to insist the juice wasn’t off? It had been sitting in an open fridge in the middle of a British heatwave.
TERRIBLE place. They aren’t even a proper Bakery! We visit henley monthly (live in London and USA) and have family in the area. We will be sure to spread the word to everyone in the area of this...
Read moreThis morning my wife and I went to this usually lovely little cafe for breakfast. Most times we’ve been there, it has been very good hence our return. Sadly today was not a good visit. Firstly, the milk In the coffee was on the turn, it was replaced without fuss. However, my full English breakfast was awful! The bacon was Luke warm and greasy, the sausages had changed and were really cheap and clearly left over from the previous day and re heated. A tinned Luke warm tomato and the eggs were overcooked. I didn’t make a fuss as I had already complained about the coffee. The only way for this to not happen again I feel, is to not return. What was once our go to breakfast has now become one to avoid. Sorry guys, this hurts me just as much as it will hurt you...
