Lovely independent museum with fascinating exhibits!
This museum has a lot more to offer than you think! The entry fees are great, all children get in for free, and for adults you have to pay £4.50 for entry. The good thing about the adult ticket is that if you keep the small ticket that they give you, you get to visit for free for the next year!
All of the exhibits inside are all child friendly and very interesting for the adults.
The museum and art gallery is based over 3 floors, with lift access to all floors.
On the second floor, there is a wonderful art gallery, with paintings and pictures from artists near and far. This makes a wonderful addition to the Museum.
There are lots of facts about the town of Tenby, dating back to the prehistoric times! There is also an informative film about how Tenby developed to become the seaside town that we all know today.
Overall, this is a great museum with a brilliant art gallery to go with it. It is very cared for by both the staff and the...
Read moreI adore this gem of an Art Gallery. After a gentle climb uphill you are rewarded with the best views and an exquisite collection of works by Gwen John, Nina Hamnett, Augustus John and Ray Howard Jones. In addition to this core collection the gallery regularly exhibits contemporary multi media works including photography, textiles and sculpture. The recent SPAF exhibition was a highlight - I was so impressed to see works eliciting conversations about global conflict, dispossession and occupation, with a focus on Palestine. So many cultural institutions are choosing commerce and silence over addressing this heinous moment in history. It’s never controversial to hold a mirror up to governmental complicity and warmongering, but many institutions fear to do so and are the weaker for it. And well curated inclusive space in addition to the more traditional museum artefacts. Be sure to check out every new exhibition. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable and the...
Read moreReally disappointed. Travelled to Tenby from the East Midlands for my partners birthday specifically to see the Nicky Wire exhibition. Checked opening times and traveled from our air bnb nearby today, walked in wind and rain from car park...to find it closed due to the weather conditions. And worse still,a person in the actual building who actually pulled the blind down when they saw us outside. I understand if you couldn't open due to the weather because staff couldn't get in,but when you have someone doing that its just rude and unprofessional. You've also missed out on two paying customers who were interested in buying some art, something I thought you would deem important when the arts budget is non existent and art galleries rely largely on visitors. Very disappointing. Can you advise on whether you will be open tomorrow as thats when we...
