I have always enjoyed visiting the Plantagenet House restaurant, normally as a special treat for birthdays and anniversaries, unfortunately on this occasion I had a poor experience, firstly on arrival our party of four where shown to our table which was pushed in tight to the seating area so we were unable to sit on one side of the table, I asked a member of staff if they could help me move the extremely heavy table but was ignored, after our party stood by the table for a few minutes I asked if we could be seated at a different table, we were then begrudgingly moved to a table next to where the waiting staff congregate near the entrance door under a loud speaker which had loud music playing above my head for the whole time, not a great table seeing as there where only by a handful of customers dining in the restaurant and many other vacant tables available, due to the reluctance of the staff not wanting to move us from the first table I dearnt have asked to be moved again. I chose the filet steak, as my main meal I have ordered this many times here and have always enjoyed it, unfortunately this time the meal was stone cold, the garlic butter wouldn’t even melt on the steak. I asked the waitress if my meal could be warmed up as I didn’t want a replacement meal as this would have spoiled the evening, not being able to eat with my party. After about 10mins the plate returned but unfortunately the meal was still lukewarm, I decided not to complain again as my party where already half way through eating their meals and I didn’t want to spoil the evening for everybody else. I hope this was just a one off as I have enjoyed dining in this restaurant many times in the past without issue and have recommend it to many friends...

We toiled over whether we should go in or not - we were deterred by the price but after a prolonged vibe check (i.e. menu checking, going to the downstairs bit), we decided to eat here for dinner for our first, and only, night in Tenby.

Nothing really popped out at us on other google reviews and this, in fact, did skip our radar. However, exploring the side streets, and happening upon the cute yellow front and lantern/lightbox this seemed like the go-to place.

Unfortunately we are not made of money so we only got mains and a dessert to share. (cheapest non-vegan main approx ÂŁ30). In retrospect perhaps we should have got two different mains (we ended up getting sea bass risotto), and a lemon curd tart for dessert.

Seabass simply pan fried, but simply delicious. Risotto is something we always question and aren’t sure why we do, the added samphire boosted the dish from what could have been bland to a subtly interesting flavour. However the peas and broad beans were slightly overcooked.

Tart was £10 but an overall winner. It’s always nice to have a dessert, if you’re going to come to a more expensive place, then you may as well enjoy yourself ! Very strong acidic kick compensated by the vanilla chantilly cream. Recommend eating as many mouthfuls with a little bit of the fruit and cream to balance all the flavours.

Overall vibe: staff friendly, interesting setting and history and cosy settees downstairs by the fire for an aperitif or post-dinner drink. Lose yourself in the warm and cosy basement (dimly lit, low roof). Vampires...

We were booked in for my wife's 50th birthday, as we had been here a few years ago and had a great experience. Upon arrival we were seated fairly promptly, our waitress was really good and attentive. Food wise, the choice was very poor and expensive, we had booked based on the online menu, only to find this to be out of date, the main items were missing. Starters, very small and expensive. Some ordered the octopus, which was a small piece with a drop of sauce, and over ÂŁ11, you would think if anywhere could serve this right it would be a restaurant in Tenby!! My Parfait was again small and expensive, large mark-up there. Mains were very small, two of us tried the Lemon Sole, which was cooked very well, but, only came with five very small potatoes, and for ÂŁ24 massively overpriced, because if you were hungry you would probably want two other sided dishes and these were ÂŁ5 each!! For the prices they should be doing a lot better, all I can think is people who like it are small eaters with money to spend, and want to look at a 12th C fireplace. Music, horrendous, a bit like listening to a group of Zombies trying to play jazz. You almost felt as if you were privileged to get a table! If you do go, eat before hand and enjoy the setting and ambiance, treat the food as an added bonus. If you are looking for a place to have great seafood for a great price look at - The Stone Crab, Saundersfoot. We certainly won't be going back as there is too much better choices in Tenby and the...

Large and friendly place to eat and drink this place gives you a friendly welcome and large menu. The prices range from cheap to top end but when you are offering fresh fish it is to be expected. The staff are lovely and there are lots of drinks to choose from- I recommend the ‘Son of a Beach’ which tasted like ‘Dead Pony Club’ but in a glass bottle. The food was tasty- I decided on a light lunch of mushroom ravioli and my partner had a vegetarian burger and I heard no complaints. I would definitely come back because it is so different; the decor is seaside shabby. It is a very old building so it is low down and smells like a fireplace. The location is perfect- just off the Main Street and you can wander from there to the harbour to have an ice cream. The whole place is on two levels- the lower level we sat in was cooler and not as busy which is how I like to dine. They do accept cards and it is contactless.

This restaurant is housed in a cool old building with lots of places to sit and enjoy drinks or food. The bar on the bottom floor had a very friendly young man who served us our food. We sat in the back room with a fire place and some cozy couches. The house white wine was delicious, they also have a kids menu with several things on it which was great for us. We ordered two fish and chips, the kids portion was great the adult portion at ÂŁ17 seems overpriced in my opinion. The tartar sauce was good but I think we ordered at the tail end of lunch because the chips were not fresh and fish was soggy in the middle, such a bummer for a place with great reviews. The service was good for us though and the wine was tasty. I would consider giving it another try if the meals were a little less expensive. Overall not a bad experience, just not great.
