This is a major shout out too the beach patrol!
We were at the beach yesterday and had walked down to Toby carvery couldn't get a seat so walked back. On walking back my 2 boys were separated from us and we lost sight of them.
I past the beach patrol staff and asked if they had seen 2 boys in bright yellow shorts they said no but as I started to get teary they were aware I needed help.
The lady in charge took descriptions of the boys deployed the staff into different sections of the beach and new exactly who they were looking for. They were swift at jumping into action. And they were communicating over the walky talkies clearly. And it took 4 minuets yes thats correct 4 minuets too locate my children between them that I couldn't manage by myself looking.
So thankyou so much for helping me I will never forget it and I never want too experience that again as it's never happened before. But you deffo made the experience alot easier as I could see and hear how organised you were so well done and again...
Read moreThough it was a bit cloudy,We had fun at the fair games and all but disappointed by not finding a decent place to eat in town. Limited food restaurants. Selling mostly chips and ice. saw so many local people had bags of sandwiches and drinks.so they know the place lacks good healthy food/restaurants. I didn't like walking on beach sand, they were too many flies, not sure if due to water being dirty.or had waste water going into it.
We walked by every corner but found few outgrown bushes blocking us from walking through the narrow walk.and saw beer cans inside every Bush.this tells us what kind of people are frequently there.
Other issue, dozen of binge drinkers by the sea side and kids cycling through pedestrians and cutting through them. It's a small place and no cycling should be allowed by sea side. The council there don't think about tourism for their local areas.but they like to be treated well and be a welcomed tourist. Might give it another visit Next spring just to see if...
Read moreGreat place to sit and unwind, with lots of near by bars and restaurants to choose from. Lovely sandy beaches kept in tip top condition by the little silver haired guy that drives the Tractor and beach rake for the Tendering and district council. The sea is clean and lovely to swim in although care should be taken not to swim to close to or under the pier. This is dangerous and should be avoided. The pier its self is a great attraction and has lots of candy floss donuts and soda to enjoy before taking a ride on the roller coaster or big wheel. The beach front cafe and grill serves top notch food and drink run by a friendly and welcoming team of people that make it a place worth stopping at to revive and refresh. Proper good old English sea side town with Proper good old English people. My advice is to get down to Clacton pier, have a great time and enjoy all it has to offer and the people that make it special, YOU, ME AND...
