Absolutely shocking food handling. One women wearing blue gloves, cutting bacon then handling ready to eat salad stuffs without changing gloves.,didn't wash lettuce just cut it straight out of the packet and plates it. Girl on til handling money then went out back and touched sausage on a plate and bread without washing her hands. Dirty dishcloth being used to clean down surfaces and a tea towel used by numerous people to wipe hands and food prep surfaces. Am sat here watching them right now as a cook with 28 years experience and I cannot believe what I'm seeing. Absolutely disgusting, I ordered toast but won't eat it. Sporting a score of 2 on the door and place is crowded, mainly builder looking workmen. Place needs an EHO visit ASAP. You'd think with an open door and customers having clear vision of food prep and cooking etc they'd make sure they were working within food safety guidelines. Just a shame I don't work for environmental health as I'd have shut them down there and then. Don't recommend anyone eating here. They've been inspected last August and food handling was a concern then, they've obviously done nothing...

What a gorgeous little gem in the capitol of Wales!

If you're looking for a good old full breakfast, then Elmers is the place to go! We were on a road trip across the country, and in need of some well-earned fuel before setting off back up north. Finding this delightful cafe just round the corner, we decided to follow our noses and were plentifully rewarded for doing so!

The menu at Elmers covers the classic breakfast options, with sandwiches and full plates on offer, as well as several other meals that can cater for other appetites, including pies and roasts. Through the main cafe is an additional seating area, though we stayed in the main shop. Staff are friendly and courteous, working to making everything as delicious as possible.

Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area, we shall certainly be sure to pop in when in...

Have been here for various types of breakfast and also a Sunday Roast Dinner. The breakfasts are very reasonable and good value for money. They do a breakfast double for £6.95 which will give you two bacon, egg, sausage, hashbrown, black pudding, beans/tomatoes and buttered bread or Toast with a hot drink or a large glass of Orange juice.

It's well established community café that has a warm and friendly atmosphere with staff who engage in conversation and bring the food to your table They have one toilet on site. It's situated in a heavily student populated area, but has good offers for pensioners and has a dedicated client base of regulars who frequent the café.

Food is always lovely and we'll cooked. Service is quick and polite. Its not a greasy spoon,n but a great little spot to stop and get a...

We went there for a real British food experience, and it was brilliant! The staffs were very nice and kind to us. They even offer double/mini/vegetarian(which is the one we took) options as well. With the jacket potato, you can order different toppings. Every single menu is made with a lot of efforts, thus they’re all so yummy. When I ordered the chocolate milkshake, a gentleman who served it asked me if it was sweet enough, which was very considerate thing to do. No wonder why this places is always full of people! Thank you so much for our very pleasant experience (: definitely recommend it both for the locals and visitors in Wales!

As many of my reviews will show - I do like a cafe and a cooked breakfast, so I’m not sure how I’ve managed to miss this place for so long. Staff are next level friendly and chatty and the food was superb. I was barely sat down with my coffee in the covered garden area before my breakfast was in front of me, cooked perfectly and piping hot. This is really straightforward cafe food cooked superbly with fresh ingredients. The prices are also startlingly good value, both for the quality and quantity but also compared to others in the Cardiff area. Definitely worth popping in if passing or making a trip for.
