The park itself is extremely good. For some reason a lot of skate parks miss flat bars (grind rail, especially round rails). The hand rails are a nice size but no flat bar. A lot of variety with different sections, from the street plaza to transition parks. There's a beginners section and a kids play area with on site cafe and toilets.
The reason for the 4/5 stars is not because of the missing flat bar but because of the horrendous car park. For such a big area there is barely enough room for like 10 cars. The other side is for disabled parking which is fine but always empty. The issue is for such a large park the car park doesn't match up. There is a lot of space for a bigger car park.
You can't complain too much because its a free park but i would have been happy to pay £5 to park there for a full day if they built a decently sized car park. Plus it would be some extra money for maintenance and things.
Edit - The car park has been extended. It is much better but still not huge. It is a pay and display.
Anyway overall great skatepark, definitely worth a trip.
Tip: The b&q on the otherside of the park has 3 hours...

This has resulted in an atmosphere where these individuals, who often act in an intimidating manner, dominate the park, making families and children feel unwelcome and unsafe. The lack of supervision from park rangers further exacerbates this issue, as their presence is minimal, leaving families vulnerable to the anti-social behaviour that has marred what used to be a great facility. Sadly, the park's decline into an unsafe environment is a disheartening development for...
Read moreBike, skateboard, scooter and skates, this place is perfect for them all, whether you are a complete beginner or expert all the parts of this park are to suit. The different parts range from kids' pump tracks to intermediate bike trail with jumps. There's a big park and table tennis too. The cafe is another additional highlight, well priced coffees and snacks are available. It's very clean and well manicured, which is rare for a big activity park such as this, so credit to staff who keep it that way. There's a car park on site with disabled parking bays available with contactless payment. It's definitely a place to enjoy for the day with plenty to do for the kids and a well-deserved coffee...
