They do good coffee and the staff are all very nice people but the breakfast I had wasn’t great unfortunately . There is definitely some room for improvement with the food. The pancakes were dense and flat and the full English could’ve used more effort. The presentation wasn’t great, veg was over cooked and eggs were flat. Here’s what I had that I thought was pretty good 1) The vegan burger , it’s made with a moving mountain patty so it mimics the taste of a real burger very well and the fries had a nice crisp to them and lightly salted so they were very tasty 2) The ramen is nice (broth just could’ve used more seasoning, it was a little on the bland side for Ramen) so I would love for the cool to add a bit more bok choy, spring onions etc to it. 3) The vegan carrot cake - delicious !! All of this is to say, I do like this cafe , it’s in a beautiful park , spacious , and the staff are friendly so I enjoy coming here. That’s why I think they can do better . With cafes like Flourish and Ocean Bells in town , I think Tasty Bean would stand out more if the food is improved on a bit- especially...
Read moreStaff are very nice, friendly and accommodating. Came here to work from my laptop and whilst enjoying a sandwich and a mocha. I can’t have dairy as I’m lactose intolerant so opted for the oat mocha which was lovely and a club chicken sandwich with chips. All looked great when he came out however the sandwich was three layers of thick white bread with alot of tomato and lettuce and two very mesley slices of chicken. This was over £10 so I expected the chicken to be the main part of the sandwich, but it felt more of a bread and salad sandwich. I politely asked if I could have more chicken and showed the lady what was in the sandwich and she kindly retrieved more chicken from the kitchen for me. I don’t think this is the staffs fault, as I assume the food it portion controlled.
Service has been fantastic and great place to relax, music volume in the cafe makes it a little difficult to study here however, even with headphones on. So might need to find another location for my work. Will visit again however at...
Read moreThe park itself is fantastic—truly a wonderful place that we visit regularly. However, the café experience can be improved. On weekends, the café primarily serves families with children, and while the convenience is appreciated, the wait times for food can be surprisingly long. During our last visit, we waited 30 minutes for a banana waffle, despite being second in line right after the café opened. Unfortunately, the food is quite average, making the long wait even more frustrating. As for the coffee, it’s not the best. If you’re particular about your coffee, bringing your own might be a good idea. The staff isn't necessarily unfriendly, but they do seem quite disengaged. A bit more warmth and attentiveness would definitely enhance the experience. Overall, the café benefits from being the only option around, but with some improvements in service efficiency, food quality, and customer engagement, it could be a much better addition to an otherwise...
