I organised a small group - about 13 of us to visit the museum. It was a lovely visit, we were welcomed with a cup of tea and biscuit and a short talk about how the museum started. The museum is very small but is full of interesting and informative stuff, hands - on and interactive displays. For me the highlight is the magnificent Roman Silver treasure (the real thing is in the British museum in London but the reproduction is just as wonderful to see) and the Lakenheath Warrior, his horse and artefacts from his grave. A modern, well planned layout, with some interactive activities. Very Disability friendly with automatic door at entrance, with a new state of the art lift. I spent well over an hour looking round, anyone who is into suffolk history archaeology would be amazed. There's a surprising amount of artifacts here from the mildenhall treasure, which was discovered during the construction of what is now the local sainsburys. The entry is free for military.
