Title: A Disastrous Experience at Fantasy Island State: Beware of the Con Machines!
I recently visited Fantasy Island State with high hopes of enjoying a fun-filled day of entertainment. However, my experience turned out to be nothing short of disappointing. One of the major letdowns was the 10p machines, which were nothing but a complete con.
First and foremost, these machines had £20 notes hanging over the edges, cleverly wedged in such a way that it was nearly impossible to win them. It became evident that the main purpose of these notes was to entice unsuspecting visitors, giving them a false sense of hope. It quickly became clear that the chances of actually winning any substantial prize were slim to none.
But the deceitful nature of the machines was not the only problem. The staff at Fantasy Island State were utterly miserable and displayed rude behavior throughout my visit. Their lack of enthusiasm and unwelcoming attitudes left a sour taste in my mouth. It was evident that they had little interest in ensuring the visitors had an enjoyable experience.
Even though we had 3-hour wristbands that were supposed to provide unlimited access to the attractions, we were shocked to discover that we had to pay an additional fee for the ghost train. Despite already paying for the wristbands, we were expected to shell out more money for one of the main attractions. It felt like a blatant cash grab and further added to the disappointment and frustration we experienced.
Considering the exorbitant prices charged for the attractions and games, the overall value for money at Fantasy Island State was abysmal. With the combination of deceptive 10p machines, the staff's dismal attitude, and the unexpected charges for the ghost train, it became clear that this place was not worth the money spent.
To say that I was disappointed with my experience at Fantasy Island State would be an understatement. I strongly advise anyone considering a visit to steer clear of this establishment. You will only find yourself frustrated by the con machines, and the unpleasant demeanor of the staff will further dampen your spirits. Save your hard-earned money and seek out more reputable and enjoyable entertainment...
Read moreI take a young autistic girl to fantasy island quite often, as she absolutely loves the rides and it’s really beneficial for her sensory needs - all of the staff I have met so far are lovely and really understanding /accommodating for us. However, there is one member of staff who is unfortunately not so understanding and can be quite rude. When on the trampolines, we often ask for this young girl to be on her own as she can struggle with other children, so for her safety and others we have always requested she go on her own and that we set a timer upon other children wanting to join (as we find this works well for ‘moving her on’) before moving her off. All the children and their adults, as well as staff have been great about this. But today we were met with this one particular staff member who told the other children to join, and when I explained the timer situation and her autism, he actually laughed, and said how others are wanting to join and continued to encourage the other children on. He said he knows ‘all of this’ already. And after coming off the of trampoline, he said to a colleague of mine, as she tried to explain again how it’s for everyone’s safety - that ‘it’s a business’. Thankfully, the children were really understanding and chose to wait, despite being told to go on and the adults they were with reassured us again that waiting 2 minutes was not an issue. Would’ve been 5* but given that one member of staff, it’s a 3*. We have often noticed he comes across quite grumpy, and wonder why he has chosen to work at a children’s...
Read moreBeen coming here for years but they have decided to remove all seating. This is now completely unsuitable for my disabled family members, who cannot stand for long periods of time. Tried talking to members of the park and the only thing they offered was for my disabled mum to sit in the soft play area, which excluded her and wasn't able to enjoy watching her grandchildren having fun. I feel this is absolutely disgusting and will put many people off coming. Again excluding people with disabilities to be able to feel included in family fun. Shame on you. We won't be back. Also to add, it is not stated exactly what you get for the price of the wristbands and it's clear the staff are not clearly informed either. I have been told 2 conflicting things with what kids actually get for the price of a standard wristband. There is now also a height restriction on the soft play area, so my girls were classed as too tall. I honestly dont think the wristbands are now worth the money. Bumper cars have also been made slower and you get 2 minutes. I have 5 kids and have been bringing them for years. This is the 1st year i have been extremely disappointed. Not only have they got rid of all benches/ seating, there is also no bins. There is also no ramp access to soft play. The short cut bridge out the back of the park to bowleaze cafe, the gate has been locked, so no choice but to get my disabled mum to walk the...
