Jordan Hill Roman Temple is a Romano-Celtic temple and Roman ruin situated on Jordan Hill above Bowleaze Cove in the eastern suburbs of Weymouth in Dorset, England. Original amateur archaeological excavations on the site were carried out by J. Medhurst in 1843-6. These were followed by excavations by C.D.

A little bit of Roman history hidden behind some modern housing. Not well sign posted at all. Find the path up between the houses to the fields at the back and you have found the place. They be a bin with a badly placed sign saying "Roman Temple this way" at the side of the path on the main road down to Bowleaze cove. Also a nice spot for views looking out to sea and over towards Weymouth and Portman. For years I have been passing here and I never even knew they was a Roman Temple hidden behind the houses. Just a little bit of history located near a lovely location. Parking is mainly a no. Unless you park down on the Bowleaze cove car park.

And the army marched in And it was like the Wild West.. But tame. Weymouth was afloat,from the proceeds And we made a good living. From tour boats,pubs,guest houses And prisons.. Although they do a nice cup of Tea... All this from two pictures of Clouds. But good memories. Dad hauled in a 12ft conger eel He came in We went out.........

Rest for a while, enjoy the calm surroundings, before continuing your walk. Nearby there is roadside parking, and cafes for refreshment.
