The Shack — Restaurant in England

Spent a really lovely afternoon at the Shack/Doghouse. Weymouth has been crying out for a location like this for years. Good selection of draft beers and wine, food is lovely (though it was a bit cold) and the views stunning. Only a couple of things stop it being 5 stars. 1) not enough toilets if it gets busy later in the season and 2) no children's menu, though you can go into the older restaurant to get takeaway fish and chips and similar. 3) There is no shade - not for the bar or the playground. Walked to the area, lovely scenery, stopped for a drink and an ice cream great atmosphere. However one of the people at the bar charged my partner for a coffeee and a cider for me - said £8.60 then took £9.60. We noticed him doing something at the till but took no reaky notice, later realised he'd over charged and then probably took the extra £1 for himself - how many other people does he scam. Won't go back purely on the fact that there's someone who obviously thinks taking an extra £1 per transaction...

The shack was a fantastic place to spend my holiday. Right on the sea front, plenty of things for kids to do. Several play grounds. The only thing that bothered me is the wasps.being present everywhere . More so than usual, they were all around your drinks food and didn't go away for the entire duration of your stay.
