Beautiful buildings and surroundings. Wonderful view from the top of the tower of the dry docks, Cammel Laird, Tranmere docks on one side; Birkenhead town on the other and stunning vista of the entire Liverpool waterfront. I could have stayed up that tower all day. Free entry to the site. Full of history. Edward Longshanks stayed here. Volunteer guides happy to give you a free tour (thank you, Tony) Plenty of open space for strolling about & for children to play. Lots of benches too. Beautiful chapel. Look up at the ceilings! Toilets available but no refreshments so bring a picnic. Free parking as well. Well...

A great place to visit and easily reached if travelling by car train or ferry.Friendly helpful staff on hand who are very knowledgeable. Going to the top of the tower is a must as the view is amazing. More good news is that it is free of charge to visit. So if you are visiting Liverpool jump on the ferry or train or better still drive over to the Wirral and see this great historical hidden gem.Look out for the brown Priory signs .Well worth visiting you won't be disappointed and don't forget your camera or your phone for those special memories. If you enjoyed reading my review then don't...

The oldest building in Merseyside. There is a small museum which tells the history of the priory and how the monks lived. Children can dress up and do brass rubbing. The views from the tower are extraordinary both over the river to Liverpool and right across Wirral. The photo above with this review was taken there. Great views of the ships in the maintenance bays at Cammell Laird too. Be warned its quite a climb to the top. A nice way to spend a couple of hours all for free. It's only open on certain days so...

Fantastic day out, plenty to see here , there are Fantastic views from the top of the tower , 360 vista , see all over camel lairds, Liverpool Waterfront , and looking inland, there is the chapter house, a room dedicated to the Conway, now that is interesting , an exhibition in the crypt , there is guided tours , not sure how they work , because we just wondered about, and the beauty of this place is as well it's all for free , you can leave a donation, or donate on line via a QR code we found in the chapter house

Very interesting walk around the old priory and we had a very pleasant and knowledgeable lady to show us around. The only trouble we had was finding the free car park But found and plenty of free parking. I tried to go up the tower but due to not liking heights stopped halfway but good views over the merseyside and dry dock. Just outside the car park there is a good cafe and we needed it to get warm. Worth a visit for an hour.
