OK, I am prejudiced - this is my local canal that I keep my boat on. However, it is a truth generally acknowledged that this canal, a Brindley, is a lot prettier than the Shropshire Union, a Telford canal. Meandering, quiet and uncrowded, it can be travelled in two days. Or just moored on for a few days with ducks and kingfishers...

Always loved that a canal system exists still to this day, and long may we maintain them. Have talked about hiring a narrow boat, and I'm sure one day it'll happen. There's always something serene and calming about canal systems, and some of the boats you see navigating them...
