Abbey park is a great place especially when warm to take it children to have a picnic or to just play in the park there is plenty of field space to play football ect or laying a blanket down to chill on also there range of playpark equipment is endless and good for a variety of age ranges also a on site ice cream shop that is open in the summer and when it is warm provides the best ice cream has hot and cold drinks and also sells hot food items meaning u don't have to leave the park to get any necessities at the park they also have toilets for males females and disabled people meaning the park is welcoming everyone to there great facilities. On site the also have a great water park which is great in the summer if you wanna cool down and there's a skate park for older children who enjoy skateboarding they is also 2+ basket ball courts and a walk way in front of the river with benchs to sit down and watch the world go by and a boat to go on the river and see the...

It's a little known fact that the British ships, all 151 of them, gathered on the Avon at Evesham prior to going to war at the Battle of Jutland in 1916. Admiral Sir John Jellicoe had to shout really loud when rallying the fleet as the twenty eight dreadnought class ships were so wide that they had to line up one behind the other. Jellicoe's words were passed Chinese whispers style-ee some thirty-six miles for everyone to hear. There was confusion and some of the ships made their way to Rutland due to misinformation. A difficult task as they had to be carried overland. Matters were complicated as Rutland Water, Europe's biggest man-made reservoir wasn't started until 1971. Abbey Park was constructed to honour the fleet victory with monies provided by the defeated Vice-Admiral Reinhard Scheer who had a whip-round with the defeated...

Honestly one of the best parks I've ever been to! There's so much to look at and do.

There's a splash area for kids to play in on a hot day, there's a beautiful river right to the side to watch the boats and feed the swans and ducks, there's plenty of play areas for children so they don't get bored.

Plenty of room to have picnics and there's even picnic benches which you don't often find in some parks. There's a skate park for people who like to skateboard and Rollerblade. There are toilets on site, very clean too. Plenty of benches.

The parking was perfect too! The parking lot literally is right to the side of the park. You walk out of the lot and you're in the park. So handy. The car park does look a little bit sketchy at the bottom levels but top levels beautiful views....

Seemed to be a nice area didn't get to spend a lot of time there, as we were just passing through Evesham. There are two play areas for the younger children and area for basketball and 5 a side football. The grounds and gardens are well kept with lots of benches available to take it all in. Walking around the Abbey was lovely and being able to walk along the river is great. We noticed most of the picnic benches were taped off which was a shame. They are a good distance from one another so who knows why this is the case. Lots of parking space available on a grassed area, although you are charged up to 10pm but gates locked at 8.30 according to sign on the gate. Seems to be plenty of room should you want to have your picnic by your car
