Dacotah Prairie Museum — Attraction in Aberdeen Township

What fun this free museum is! We took our four young kids here for a Saturday afternoon and had a blast! We stayed until they closed and our kid still didn't want to leave! They have a room full of taxidermied animals with colorful realistic background that makes them look alive! There is a lot of interesting historical facts in exhibits. They have hands on kids rooms where kids can pretend they were living on the frontier. They have travelling exhibits that are a lot of fun as well and very kid-friendly. Saw Thomas the Train Engine Exhibit before it's gone, wonderful place for families and children or anyone. Great for a speedy visit or exhaustive visit. Can learn a lot here!!! Will go back many times to see everything. Elevator kinda scary personally but needed it for stroller. Stairs are an option too for upstairs. All bathrooms were closed because a sewage back up problem so thankfully kids lasted til we left. I hope they get fixed quickly. Free museum with some ever changing pieces to it. A good majority of it stays the same with some local history pieces to learn a lot about the town and area.
