Always get amazing service here. However, don't care for the sauces. Red sauce on our side of spaghetti as well as the red sauce on the manicotti was very bland, and the Alfredo sauce is really actually awful. Had to use copious amounts of salt and pepper, and actually unscrewed the cap on the cheese and used most of the jar, just to get it to taste like something, and not be runny. Very watered down and flavorless, and fredo sauce is not hard to het right. Pasta dishes were also rather cold, but chicken parm scalding hot. I'm guessing the pasta sat around waiting for the chicken to be done... The chicken parm. was pretty good though. The shrimp in the Alfredo dish still had the tails on, and serving shrimp in pasta, tails should be removed. Always. Looking forward to trying some other things next time, but have had many disappointing visits with those sauces. Still totally worth going. Also would like to add, our mixed drinks were very good. My margarita was great. The atmosphere is nice enough but really could use a bunch of candles on tables or something. Happy to have this place in town, anyway. The other places to choose from here are...
Read moreWonderful small Italian restaurant!! Located in on the first floor of a historic hotel. Makes you feel like stepped back in time. Fantastic pasta dishes from mussels in linguine to chicken piccata which was delicious and flavorful. I would get there early as there are only 20 tables. You will not be disappointed with the food ,location or price. The owner is a cordial man and will be honest with you about the meats and flavor, explaining the combinations to top off your pasta dish. A nice idea is that the entrees can be split for the lighter eaters. Not related to the food but I wish I could take the moldings and the patina of the whole place and put it into my house. Reminds me of the opulent times of yesteryear in a small town. To bad they are vanishing.
Try it you will not be disappointed and please walk the downtown as they are not built like this anymore. Support your local small business they are the...
Read moreAfter the high rating, I was terribly disappointed in the flavor and waitress. She was too busy chatting to take my order in a timely manner, and there was only 1 other table occupied. Bread was very good but the oil dipping was simply OO and balsamic without any seasoning but because there was so much oil the bread couldn't grab any balsamic. Made it very bland. Salad was lettuce with one wedge of tomato. The veal dish I ordered lacked salt and flavor. There was parm on the table but was powdered like what you would get at the grocery store and not fresh. I expect a few basics in good Italian and Roma's did not meet even basic standards. Maybe it was just a bad day but I will...
