Do not patronize this store. I've bought several thousands of dollars worth of lenses from this place, all is well until something goes wrong.
I had a rush print job requiring some matte paper. I headed straight to Helix and purchased some Moab matte and Pro-master matte. Getting home and opening up the Pro-master matte I noticed the paper wasn't matte at all, but rather a pearl or luster. I called immediately to warn them about selling more of this to other customers. I used the Moab paper for my prints that night.
Returning to the store the next week, I brought the paper I purchased, with the receipt, and informed them that I only used one sheet of the paper to see if it would print matte - it wouldn't. It wasn't matte paper. The sales clerk agreed with me.
After he spoke with the owner I was informed that my only choices were to purchase another package of the same paper. No return, no store credit, just another purchase of the same bad batch of paper. I was also informed the perhaps this was "Pro-Masters version of matte paper." It clearly was not matte paper as I've been printing for over 15 years.
Bottom Line - for $45 worth of paper this place lost a good customer. No customer service, no standing behind what they purport to sell. Terrible!

I recently brought my camera in to have some damages assessed, and the service I received was outstanding. Marie, who assisted me, was incredibly professional and helpful, even though she recently suffered a personal loss—her father passed away just a month ago. In a moment that truly reminded me of the shared humanity we all have, another customer and I took a moment to console her. Losing a parent is one of life’s toughest experiences, and we wanted Marie to know it’s OK to lean on others for support. It was a beautiful reminder that we’re all in this together.
The care and understanding I witnessed there was above and beyond. Read moreThis is a terrific professional photographer’s store. I purchased a Sony A7R3 body and a 28-70mm G Master lens. The body was shipped promptly to me in Wisconsin with 24 months 0% interest through Synchrony bank. The other major sales outlets wouldn’t even look up the information on how to do it.
The lens is backordered through Sony because it’s popular. To help me out they have given me access to their rental lenses at no charge till mine comes unless they’re needed for a rental!
They even took a couple of hours to go through the intricacies of the camera through a lot of different scenarios. This why I like working with a local small store. There is no way I would have gotten any of these terms through Best Buy Wal-Mart, B&H and di on.
I’ll be buying a lot more gear through then even though it’s an hour and a half away. The service was extraordinary.
Now to the people reading complaining reviews from 5 or 7 years ago, take note Helix has a new owner it’s nothing like it was back then.
