My wife and I love coming here several times a year; it’s one of our favorite places to visit that is a guaranteed mood lifter. It’s a unique place full of whimsy and a wide range of outstanding works of art that ranges from wall hangings to wearables.
It’s a great place to find beautiful handmade gifts not just from Don and Leandra Drumm, but from many other artists as well. We’ve purchased numerous holiday ornaments, cards, ceramics, wall hangings, prints, mirrors and jewelry.
The studios and gallery is a big draw during the holidays and it can get a little cramped from the many shoppers, but the people who work there are always kind, patient, and very helpful. They also do a really great job gift wrapping, which is a huge time saver for people like me who are not very good at it.
My first exposure to Don Drumm’s work was when I began my undergraduate studies in 1980 at Bowling Green State University, where he made the Jerome Library a giant display of his work. His work and influence is far-reaching and we’ve come to enjoy the work of his daughter, Leandra, as well.
The studios and gallery is such a fun and colorful place. Even if you just go there to look around, it will be an experience that should put a smile...
Read moreThey do have some really nice things, overpriced as you would imagine but not horribly so. It's cramped during the holiday season both with shoppers and with staff members standing around getting in the way. Last year I found the perfect thing at the perfect price. This year I found a few things I thought might work but they were just too severely overpriced. I mean the things are all unique, one of a kind objects but how much is a bowl really worth to you is the question. The light switch cover things by Leandra Drumm are adorable. The music was obtrusive and so were the staff. People don't seem to get how severely the choice of music can impact an experience. Jazz/folk is a niche market, some people love it and some hate it. It's worth a look for sure if you don't want to buy the same old sweater and who does? You might strike gold and you might just strike your head against the wall when trying to see past a staff member passive-aggressively dusting a shelf when you're trying to shop....
Read moreThis was our first time visiting the Don Drumm Studios. It is truly amazing. There is artwork of every kind from over 100 artists. Wall art, jewelry, vessels, mugs, hanging chimes, wine glasses, picture frames, garden art, greeting cards, Fancy socks, hand bags, Scarves and shawls- just to name some of the items you will find there. The first building has two stories; the stairs may be difficult for some people. The buildings are joined through a garden walk, filled with all things to enhance your outdoor living space. The second building is smaller, and is where the wearable art is among many treasures. We spent over one and a half hours wandering. I purchased a multicolored wool shawl from Nepal. We went when it first opened, at 10am, because the parking lot is...
