Bubbles and Puffles — Restaurant in Akron

So as I walked home after an long..exhausting day...you know what I'm talking about you just want to fall into your bed..face first like your diving into a pool only to belly flop...and let the biggest most over the top breath of fresh air like a whale 🐋 coming to the top of the ocean and that blast bursting to take that over the top breath was all I was imagining as I walked home....I came upon a place I had seen many times but didn't have the money to spend on a milkshake or ice cream.....but today I stopped and said to myself Tiffany you deserve something cold and sweet to drink. I walked in to Bubbles and Puffles and walked to the counter and as he said what would you like I simply said...let's start with a milkshake and then the next question what flavor I simply said I'm thirsty and hot and had a day....then I said something sweet....like strawberry and he said toppings....I said something sweet that goes with strawberries....he understood me in that moment where I had no breath to speak a single word of what I wanted.....I said I trust you and you understand what I need right now with no words he made me a Strawberry milkshake and as i left tasting my milkshake I noticed little pops of bubbles and I laughed to myself he put bubbles in my milkshake...I laughed to myself popping those bubbles in my mouth with each one a giggle... I then finished my milkshake and decided i want another.....i walked home after walking to a store and bought a homeless man a large Sprite and peanut butter cup. Becaused he asked for a dollar i said i had then to realize i didnt...i aplolgized i lied to him so i bought what he needed...i dropped my things off and went right back out the door to get another perfect milkshake that this man new i needed....i walked in an said can you make me another milkshake...with no words i sat down as he make my milkshake and again asked me to taste it to make sure it was the same....i did and it was perfect!! Take time for yourself...breath and get the most magical milkshake that is just what you need. I recomend you come here...take a breath and have yourself an amazing milkshake to calm the fire within you. Thank you Tiffany Stephan....i approved this...

If you've been looking for a good place in Akron for bubble tea, I'd just skip this place. Honestly, even though it's nice that we get a bigger serving, the physical cup size is one of the reasons I don't really get boba there and their drinks aren't even that good, its just seems whitewashed for the American palate (could be just me, but my other asian friends agree). If you go there towards the last 3-4 hours before they close on a Friday or the weekend, they usually don't have tapioca pearls and give you a tiny scoop for a big cup to try and stretch out their supply. I also noticed that their shake cups to actually make the drinks are stained brown and pink. When I go to other shops for boba like Ming's Bubble Tea in Kent/Hudson, or Maki House in Akron, their shake cups are clear as day. So that just tells me that they don't clean their cups, I wonder what else they don't clean... I'm not sure how anything else is made but I've noticed that the staff don't change their gloves enough, I understand that it gets busy and what not, but come on now. They also only have 2 people working each shift and they always look like they're struggling, the owner needs to put at least 4 people on for each shift, that's what they do at Ming's and their service and quality of drinks are great. Also, when the owner is there, all he seems to do is just stand there or take orders... doesn't help make drinks or anything. And if it couldn't get any worse, I was going to leave a tip but it seemed better if I didn't because apparently tips don't go to the staff, it goes straight to the owners' pockets. That's just disappointing honestly, a boss not a leader. So...

As boba enthusiasts who get boba in every city we visit, my wife and I were thrilled to see a boba place open up in Akron! Our first visit unfortunately was lacking, but we are holding out hope that it can get better.

First the good - the actual boba (tapioca) was fresh and had a great texture. That’s obviously key for any boba shop. Also, we got a plain waffle which was excellent. The ice cream varieties looked good as well. The employees were very friendly too!

But the bad… I ordered the brown sugar milk tea, but was informed that I couldn’t adjust the sweetness level for milk teas to make it half sweet. I went ahead and ordered it, but it was unbearably sweet :-( I could not drink it. My wife ordered a plain green tea, half sweet; it came out with no noticeable sweetness at all. She went up and asked for more sugar, which the employees were happy to help with, but it still did not taste right. So they really need to figure out their sugar dosing, and allow for sweetness adjustment on milk teas… Finally, a minor complaint, but we did not like the extra wide cups given to us, which are too large to fit in a cup holder.

Hopefully these are just growing pains, and Bubbles and Puffles will figure them out! We are...
