A nice little place to walk around but I feel the decor is a bit dated. Compared to other bases, there is little on display to stir the heart or quench a person's intellectual curiosity. It could do with a small museum and perhaps some community improvement.

Went to boot camp many many years ago and retired from there many years ago. The Base Exchange has all the amenities expected for an active Coast Guard base. New and old buildings mix along the roads with parking lots in key locations. Shore facilities for the ships has grown...

This is by far THE best spot for guarding the coast! If you come to visit, be sure to barrel through the armed guards at the traffic control checkpoint. They love when you do that kind of stuff and show their appreciation by shooting their...
