I paid to upgrade to First Class expecting, at a minimum, basic premium treatment — including access to Alaska’s own lounge. Turns out, unless your flight is over 2,100 miles and you didn't upgrade, you're not welcome. That’s right: even if you pay extra for First Class, you get turned away at the door.
This isn’t elite-level service — it’s bait-and-switch garbage.
What exactly did I pay for? A slightly wider seat and a warm cookie? No pre-flight perks. No lounge access. Just the privilege of being reminded that Alaska Airlines has no interest in rewarding paying customers unless you jump through obscure mileage hoops. It’s insulting.
Other airlines at least try to maintain the illusion of premium service — JetBlue Mint, Delta One, even American Flagship treat First Class passengers with some respect. Alaska? They treat you like a fool for thinking “First Class” actually meant something.
This is how you lose loyalty. Not through mistakes — but by intentionally building a policy that punishes your best customers for giving you more money.
Do better, Alaska. Or just call it what it is: “First Class (Except No Lounge, No Extras,...
Read moreIn the past I would have gave this lounge a 5 star review. But with the recent policy change of military members “having to be in uniform” while traveling to access this lounge I’ll give it a 1 just so it will let me post this review but would give it a 0 if possible. To put things simply, the Marines abide by the official Marine Corps policy (updated in 2007, ALMARS 035/07) which states that we will not wear our COMBAT utility uniform outside of base unlike the other branches of service. However, when I stated that and pulled up the Marine Corps order showing that we are not allowed to do so, I was still denied access and was told to go put on my dress uniform that I had in hand (in a garment bag) or cammies which were in checked baggage. I’ve been to this lounge atleast once monthly for 2 years and have never once been treated so rudely or denied access for something so simple.
I was even told that they worked out there new policy with “military officials” but when I asked what military officials she...
Read moreHorrible Experience- Blocked at the door!! Rude Staff! I’m new to the Priority Pass family from my Hilton AMEX and wanted to try out my new perk since making Diamond status. After calling the Priority hotline they informed me that the lounge closes at 9pm during the week so decided to bring my wife & 2year old to try it out before they closed. The front lady named Billie said I couldn’t come in. I told her I spoke with a Priority customer svc person on the phone & they said to come before 9pm. Billie then told me that I should have checked the website. “You were misinformed & I can’t let you in” I asked if they could accommodate us since I had a hungry 2 year old & since I was already there. Billie : “There are plenty of places that will take care of you & your 2year old here at the airport” & showed me to the door.
From the looks of the other reviews, this is what they are about. I’m disappointed in how we...
