A fantastic and wasted facility. I used this train depot to get to Seward to catch my cruise. Pros: convenient & the train that leaves here is comfortable, relaxing, way better than a coach and offers some stunning scenery. Cons: this depot is grossly underutilized; it is only for cruise guests and to the best of my knowledge, it is not linked to the rest of Alaska Railroad's network. This is made worse by the fact that this train station is an intermodel facility....there is a tunnel from the depot to the airport (which is great airport train stations are NOT utilized enough in the US). however, since cruisers fly in the night before and you can't catch a train to the airport from other parts of Alaska...what is the point?

NCL says to just follow the signs to the train depot at the airport. The problem is, there isn't ONE sign when you are driving to the airport that directs you to the train station. We were returning a rental car and drove around the airport 3 times looking for signs. ALL the signs are inside the airport directing passengers that arrive by plane. When we asked other cruise representatives that were in our hotel, they told us the train station was closed many years ago. Once you find it, the ride from Anchorage to Seward is beautiful. Don't give up, it's there...not to be confused with the train station in...

Only limited taxi park in front of the depot. Easy...
