Was looking for a place to stay in Eagle River and took a chance on this recently renovated location as there was not much to choose from and glad we did.||I will start off with the negatives:|- It is right on the road and you do hear some road noise and usual other customer noises like slamming doors|- The shower was very nice but would have liked a little better water pressure|- It is a 3 story location with no elevator you have to go down steps to get to the first floor as well so if mobility is an issue take note|- Also the entrances are all outdoors, the walk is covered, but it could get slick|- As a lot of hotels are going to, this one has a sliding barn door on the bathroom, so it is not totally private||The positives;|- As mentioned above, it is recently remodeled and they did a very nice job|- The front desk staff was incredibly friendly and professional |- We upgraded to the corner and largest suite they had and it was one of the larger rooms we’ve had|- The bathroom and shower was very large and had a very nice fog proof lighted mirror and shower (No tub if you like those)|- They offer a military discount which you have to ask for at checkin as it is not available on the website|- As mentioned above it is on the road and very close to the Anchorage exit, so access |is very easy with several good places to eat within a mile or two||Neither a positive or negative, they have a very nice TV with Hulu, Apple, Netflix, etc…but you have to use your own accounts and Hulu wanted us to change it to our home location and was not worth it for a single night, it would have been nice to have at a minimum local stations available for news, and weather.||Overall, I was between giving this 4 or 5 stars, and went with 5 stars as it seemed by far the best place in Eagle River with its limited options and the front desk, they were super, we look forward...
Read moreLet me start by saying that this review will be a little long and I apologize in advance. You have to stay here to experience and appreciate it, and I'm glad we stayed here. I only wish we had stayed here from the beginning of our trip.
This hotel has only been open for a few weeks after a massive renovation, and the owner definitely made some excellent additions, which I will get to shortly.
The general manager, Jeralynn, has been absolutely delightful. I called about a week prior to book 4 rooms for my group. We were staying in Anchorage, but the hotel we were at couldn't extend us any longer. Luckily, Jeralynn had 5 rooms available. The rate was higher than our per diem allowed, but she was able to help us out and get it down to our allowance. Every interaction I've had with her has been positive. She always has a smile on her face.
Now lets get into the rooms. The rooms have been completely redone. The beds are soft, the sheets are crisp and clean, and the pillows are very soft and comfortable. The bathrooms are absolutely awesome as well. The double queen rooms have an all glass shower and an anti-fog mirror with LED backlighting, which is awesome. My only regret is that I didn't book the king suite. If the double queen rooms are this good, imagine the suite!
Each room also has its own wifi network which was an awesome surprise. The internet was very fast and I had absolutely no issues. It gets better though. Each room also has AppleTV! I had a firestick, so I didn't use the AppleTV, but it was nice to have.
I would rate my experience here more than 5 stars if I could. Its not a big property (only 15 or so rooms) and they sell FAST. Some people may balk at the price, but let me tell you, it was worth it for us. I would 10/10 stay here again over staying...

We booked a double queen room. Although we did not have one of the rooms overlooking Denali, our room did have tremendous mountain views of the Chugach Mountain Range in your backyard.
Everything in the room is brand new so needless to say everything was immaculate.
They had a smart TV with a digital local guide featuring some local restaurants and activities in the area, this was also a very nice touch that allowed us to get familiar with some places we may have otherwise overlooked.
The bathroom is enormous with a large walk in shower.
The beds were each a queen with a quilted pillow top. Pretty firm and comfortable. There were an assortment of pillows, some soft and fluffy and some firmer. I like that there were pillow options as my wife and I have different pillow preferences.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
We really enjoyed our stay and will be recommending Eagle River Lodge to all of our friends and family if they are ever...
